I remember I had an Olympus camera that would not let you use some of the features unless you were using an Olympus brand xD card. At least on the iPod Touch 3rd Gen, if you open the task manager and swipe to the left, you not only get the iPod controls, but also a Portrait Orientation Lock button.

If you open the task manager (double-tap home) then scroll to the left, you get your iPod controls, and something I have not seen anybody cover yet, an orientation lock!

@ThomasWolfSwe: I'm pretty sure it's just the 3GS and iPhone 4 that get the multitasking. The original and 3G don't have enough RAM for Apple's version of multitasking.
