Yah.. I'm very careful what I do at the coffeehouse. My orthodontist's wifi is encrypted but the key is posted in plain sight, would it still be easy to sniff stuff out?

Popular Science had an article saying how to make a safe, working 9V safe (wrap dollar bills around the cells). Next month they sent a postcard to all their subscribers (and put a small notice in the corner of one of the pages of the How2.0 section) recommending that it not be tried at home as the cells may rupture.

How well does this work with drivers that require utility programs?

In the GIMP, put the color image on the base layer, then copy the layer and add an alpha channel to the new layer... then you can desaturate the top layer, make sure the top layer is selected, and then just use the eraser.

This'll be great for processes Spybot's process information database doesn't know about...

there's gotta be a catch...

I use SyncToy to backup my entire My Documents folder to my iPod. It'll always throw an error though, but that's the log file SyncToy throws into the My Documents folder... It works great, but SyncToy should keep it's log file in it's data folder. I'm willing to try something else though if I can find one that will

/me has a NON-SONY laptop battery... will buy me anywhere from 1-3 HOURS, depending on what I'm doing. Hell yeah!

If you need to do this offline in Windows, Microsoft has a free PowerCalc powertoy for XP. Too lazy to lookup a download URL, just go to microsoft.com, go to the Windows XP download center, find Powertoys. It doesn't to 3d graphs though.

As I posted on the linked site's comments:

I'd use linux on my lappy, but my lappy hates non-windows OSes. And I'm used to XP, so I'll upgrade to the Home Basic version when and only when it is needed for a large majority of programs, (or probably whenever Microsoft decides that XP was a piece of crap and decides it's not worth it to keep making security

I shall download this and then continuously check for a new version of AR-Speedup if the current version isn't compatable.

Eh, why waste the bandwidth? Just go to your local TV station's website, or if you have a cell phone with TXT messaging, and are in the US, just send a text message that says "w {yourzipcode}" (works best without a signature) to 46645 (GOOGL).

I remember a duct-tape wallet HOWTO on 3M canada was linked here. How about some more duct tape stuff? I've broken covers off of flash drives, and wrapping them in electrical tape then duct tape, cutting a hole for the status led, and the drives still haven't failed me!

Oh GAWSH i hate active desktop. Hello, if I want web content, I'll load it on demand in Firefox. I don't need Internet Explorer screwing up stuff. Plus, I'm on dialup, and I can't exactly set a good "sync" schedule.

Amazingly, the ONE thing I hate about Verizon. Damn DRM.

Would be nice for me to have if I had broadband. Ahh wallet, you fail me again.

trilly in windows, gaim in linux (once I get linux to fracking work right on this thing. It's not the laptops fault.... i wuv my wappy. It's microsoft's fault for making everything require windows and acer's fault for using semi-proprietary parts.

i don't think my screen quite touches my keys on my lappy... there's a bit of empty space between the screen and keyboard when closed... probably for that reason.
