The TV adaptation follows the books pretty closely actually. They're both rapey.

It's more real that SATC which is BS. More brutal stuff than GOT happens in the modern world all around us, even in the US. People just don't want to admit it. I'm not condoning it. But I would say, for a fantasy show, it's more realistic than most TV.

I have to differ: Drogo and Dany's first time was rape in the novels, too. Even if Drogo tried to make it better for her, understanding the situation she's in, the whole matter of being sold into marriage against her wishes and then having sex against her wishes, that's still rape.

Rape is real and horrendous. I don't see Game of Thrones glamorizing rape at all. It's very ugly about its portrayal, as it should be.

Addendum for the men: Please, no sloppy PJ pants, T-shirts, workout clothes, or sweatpants. Shirts should be clean and pressed and have a collar, please no characters, text, or logos.
