I’m surprised other studios are fighting to sign him after Tenet. That movie was a mess. It was his first dud though, so they’re likely assuming he bounces back. I don’t know if that movie would have done much better minus Covid. I think peak-pandemic was a good time for him to send this film into the world. Not as

Yeah, let’s stop sitting indoors and staring at screens, get out of the house and go to a building where you pay twelve bucks to sit indoors and stare at a screen. But now you’re surrounded by strangers, you can’t pause the movie, and all the food costs $30. This is better, we promise.

Yeah, I’m much more interested in the production process than I am in the story. Like, how do you do shots involving props that he has to manipulate in a certain way? If he does it wrong so that it wouldn’t make sense, do they give him a hint for the next take? And if it’s a continuous shot involving multiple people,

You forgot one:

Jake Bussey as Guile..

This was a little name-droppy, but she's terrific. I wouldn't call it bitterness but there is a crusty edge to her. I don't kind. Redheads, baby!

This sounds kind of boring.

Timlin also played the title character in Little Sister:

I agree. One of the great pleasures of the first season of The Mandalorian was how independent it was of past Star Wars films.  The show was building its own side universe, with its own storylines and recurring characters.

I didn’t hate Love Is Dead, but I didn’t love it. They really simplified and flattened out the lyrics, stringing together cliches like Katy Perry on a bender. “Ask me no questions and I’ll tell you no lies, careful what you wish for” is a far cry from “you took far too much for someone so unkind.”

The John Carpenter remix of Good Girls is excellent.

Hey, in September, do you think you guys will get around to restoring our ability to link to specific comments? Or is that basic functionality just gone forever?

It’s like the cover was foreshadowing his future.

I don’t understand why you’re yelling at me. I emphatically stated that you’re not racist. I mean, I really tried to drive the point home, just so nobody could possibly get confused.

I read “Fuck you Kinja” and starred this without even reading the rest first.

“...and Amelie is terrible.”
