I recommend Pop Matters. They cover a broad range of pop culture and not just fanboy shit and stuff that is five minutes old. The writing is also much stronger.

Threads often include critiques of the site function, content, or political heavy-handedness. I agree with many of the critiques, but there is rarely a mention of alternative sites.

I am still pissed that Sweet/Vicious was cancelled. At the risk of sounding crass, the show had the unfortunate luck of being axed right before MeToo became a cultural touchstone. If it had been out a few months later, I wonder if it would’ve lasted longer.
