My solution to the Holdo nonsense would be to have her not trust Leia’s hyperspace tracking theory. Instead, Holdo tells the crew she thinks a mole sent their location to the enemy. This gives her a reason to be secretive. So, she sends the fleet through hyperspace again, while blocking all communications. Only when

New abilities are often revealed this way: In Empire, we don’t know Luke can move stuff with his mind until he’s hanging from his feet in Hoth with his saber out of reach. Later, he can suddenly fly up out of the carbonation chamber while fighting Vader.

The Force Awakens was responsible for Luke’s cynicism. It gave us a Luke that would abandon his friends and loved ones to die. Rian Johnson was left to explain what version of Luke could possibly do that.  He succeeded.

My family discovered it during quarantine and fell in love. Somehow, Mr. Rogers Neighborhood became a deadpan comedy, but remained just as sweetly sincere.

Well, I think the outrage is the one-two punch of “inspired by Amanda Knox” and then having their character (possibly?) be guilty.

For better or worse, the show tries some new things. Writing quality is very inconsistent. Prepare to be frustrated as much as entertained.

Smokeless ashtrays?  Is the Bathroom Buddy a real thing, too?

My guess is that people will still be around in a 1000 years, but conditions (not just environmental ones) will be so bad that only the super-rich and powerful manage to live with any comfort.  Tech breakthroughs could change that, I suppose.

I think change is possible, but not likely on the global scale needed to avoid climate predictions. Too many people will always refuse to cooperate, whether it’s out of greed, fear, laziness, etc.

So far, the new Wolf Alice is my fave. But I’m looking forward to three August releases: Chvrches, Joy Formidable, and Bleachers.

Guess the judge bought her Meteor Rock defense.

I agree with you about The Great Outdoors. Even as a kid I hated it.

My family still jokes about lamb fries.

Yep, for me it was Fargo and Legion.

Everything involving the grandmother is ridiculous. And her relationship with the bad guy only started because of another ridiculous element: Kristen doesn’t share the identity of the psychopath who repeatedly threatens her and her kids with the only adult who is actually home with those kids on a regular basis.

The school needed to make a very public announcement that they were considering a change to the calculation process, allow for debate at school board meetings, and then make it clear to parents which school year the changes would take effect. Without all of that, the school should have expected petty complaints - rega

I love Catching Fire’s final shot. An extreme close-up of Lawrence’s face as she gradually brings her character’s competing emotions into a look of solid determination. From what I remember, the next film walks that back and spends much of its runtime building her up to the same point.

I want to believe she glammed up specifically for this video call.

Yep, it’s a handy new feature. Granted, for most threads these days there’s only five comments to sort through.

It’s important to note that revealing Twin Peak’s killer was not a voluntary decision by Frost and Lynch.
