Can’t tell if this is sarcasm or not, sorry. If it is, ignore this comment. :P If not, IIRC Adam Ruins Everything is couched in humor but is also researched and all that statistics are true.

I was wondering this, too.
I’m so glad he took the step beyond housing/neighborhood discrimination and addressed the implications for school segregation as well. As much as people are clueless about historic redlining, they are really oblivious to their own contributions to modern day segregation.
Can I ask about the choice of header photo for this article? I understand Philadelphia was one of the studied cities, but are most of the people studied applying for loans to buy tear-downs? I just question why this is the photo to accompany a story about POC applying for mortgages.
I love how when people’s dogs jump on you in public, they just say “Oh! They’re friendly! It’s okay!” And in your head you’re just screaming, “I need to wash these clothes and take my inhaler and Benadryl now!”
I run/hike on trails a lot and have had a lot of shitty experiences with dogs jumping on me, but I had one truly terrifying incident. I was hiking on a rocky, narrow trail on top of a gorge with a sheer drop into a river below. There are explicitly pictures and text signs on the trailhead and reminder signs all over…
You’re right, I like the idea a lot more than the legal execution of the idea. I’ve known some teachers/professors who bring their dogs around, but I don’t think there’s ever been any issues there with students’ allergies. But maybe the students were just too shy to say anything, especially since their classmates…
In my experience, a sizable majority of dog owners.
I love my dogs. I love your dogs. I love dogs I see on the street. I love all dogs.
I like dogs. I am also horribly allergic to your dogs. Please stop bringing them on the train. To the laundromat. To the Grocery store. To restaurants. To pretty much everywhere that isn’t outside. if you can’t run errands or eat lunch without your fucking dog, you have a mental problem.
Let’s not pretend that Amazon and other companies are allowing people to bring their dogs into work because they care about employee happiness. They are doing it because employees will work longer hours if they don’t have to go home to take care of their dogs.
This is an extremely valid point. There’s something really gross and performative and disaster-porn-esqe about it, isn’t there?
Right? Like that nutjob who drowned her pet hamster in the airport toilet. Yikes.
My favorite part of Britney & Kevin: Chaotic was that she gleefully discarded this dumb lie. She proudly proclaimed they be fucking and its really hot pop star-dancer sex, not your boring plebian sex.
God that was weird. Even as a homely little teenager who definitely wasn’t having any sex I remember thinking that was 1. really odd that they were talking about this stuff in public and 2. very obviously a lie in 100% of the cases.
Yes. These people have careers based on their image as much as anything else. Why shouldn’t those consuming what they create get to hear about all of their behavior, not just what their PR firm is putting out?
What does “being tried outside the courts” even mean? People keep saying it, and all it seems to amount to is, “People are talking about the story and no longer seem interested in consuming the work of the artist involved.”
White Supremacy is just about wearing white sheets, lynching & setting crosses on fire...it’s starts with making & keeping innocent children ignorant to what’s right & wrong.
Shrove Tuesday. A religious holiday I can get behind.
Blade- the villains were a group of white men sitting around a table ruling the world who held Blade with a mixture of fear and loathing. When they want to kill him? They send police officers...
