Seriously. She’s pretty much the only person who says she’s fat. Some of her stuff is funny but a lot her sketches alternate between feeling kind of annoyingly didactic on sexism and trying too hard to be raunchy. And she is *terrible* on race.

I’ve long said Amy’s talents are not in her standup. She put together a great team of writers and she is maybe one of the few comics whose show is better (by a long shot, really) than her comedy. Her sketches are very smart, but many of them can’t translate well into solid standup jokes. The Friday Night Lights parody

If I’m being honest, she annoys the shit out of me and I’m pretty sick of hearing about her, but whatevs ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I want to find her funny but her casual racism is fucking gross and her non apology was super gross and I hate how she’s always wearing over the knee boots because they never go w her outfits.

I know the whole world is apparently in love with Amy Schumer but I can’t understand it, personally. I just don’t find her funny. (Please note, I am not saying I don’t find women funny, just Amy Schumer). I have friends who try are always trying to play her stuff around me so that I can “get it”. It doesn’t help. I

Am I the only one who thinks Amy Schumer is overrated?

This is in no way a call out, but I’m musing over it in a larger cultural sense:

This. Come on Joan Jett. Make a statement and reach out to Ms. Fuchs. This clearly has haunted her whole life. God, that article was a hard read. Very very important, but hard.

What startles me is that Joan Jett was complicit in any of this. Maybe I’ve had the wrong impression of her.

Her facial structure is actually very, very similar to Bill’s mom’s. I’m looking at the heavy lids, the shape of the nose and the cheekbones to chin. Her lower lip is a little bit like Hubble’s, but could also be a Hilary trait. Either way, Bill raised her. Bill’s her dad. That’s all that truly matters.

“in my mind” I didn’t rape anybody is a real Cosby-level excuse

Cherkis points out, too, that Fowley always denied sexually abusing The Runaways, quoted in a 2013 band biography as saying, “They can talk about it until the cows come home but, in my mind, I didn’t make love to anybody in the Runaways nor did they make love to me.” And that may be right, in that “love” is no one’s

Yes, you are correct. However, this also is a presidential candidate, which is not a “normal” celebrity. This is political dynamite, if true. As we get to debate season, this will reopen the specter of Whitewater, reexamination of the alleged Clinton connections with current and former felons, be used to “answer” the

Whatever is true, it doesn’t change the fact that whatever is going on (or went on) in their marriage is nobody’s damn business.

She’s not wrong, but she’s putting all the burden on the speaker, who, at the moment of speech, is also burdened with the nervousness of being on the spot, or the duty to interrupt a conversation etc etc. How about asking the listeners to adjust their filters a little bit to be less triggered by these filler words?

How about “We do not discriminate on th basis of race” FIN

It reminds me of when my sister-in-law came out as gay, and my mother-in-law said, “I’d love her even if she wanted to be with a giraffe!” Um yeah, not the same thing.

Don’t invent non-human colored people to prove how not racist you are.

Oh, absolutely. Spot on. Such a disingenuous statement.

Not that I’m calling the long lost family members bigoted but I find people who mention the color purple (heh) in discussions about race are almost always the type of racist who keeps their bigotry under wraps.
