A ding, a ding, a-what’s that sound?

Finally finished A Brief History of Seven Killings by Marlon James. Took a while, but very worth it.
Next in the "to read" pile…The Ascent of George Washington by John Ferling and Dark Money: The Hidden History of the Billionaires Behind the Rise of the Radical Right by Jane Mayer - although the latter will probably…
And Jesus was an architect, previous to his career as a prophet.
Bob: "And while you were in the house, Teddy let the air out of the tire."
Teddy: "I also cut the brake line, I thought that would be scary too!"
Marantz is good stuff. I have an older Parasound preamp that I love, and a Denon receiver. Some decent Klipsch speakers, but would love to get to B&W or something a bit nicer someday. I used to work in a hifi shop, so I still have champagne tastes on a beer budget…but damned if it isn't a wonderful addiction.
That's a nice one. I've still got an Elys 2 on mine, but been looking seriously at something like a Clearaudio Aurum or something in the Grado Reference line. I'm a little biased, but I think Rega makes such a nice table that it's tough to put something bad on there.
So, fellow audio nerd, what cartridge are you thinking about? Inquiring Fluggets want to know.
Yep. That album would sound great on my Rega P3… :)
"First prize is a bottle of Daraprim. Second prize is a set of steak knives. Third prize is you die a slow agonizing death."
It's called a joke, Doug. Look into it.
Things I enjoyed about this show:
Jamie Lee Curtis
Niecy Nash
Nasim Pedrad
the character deaths - the lawnmower bit was great.
Why don't you have a seat over there?

Top 3:
One Size Fits All (hooray! we agree!)
Hot Rats
Over-nite Sensation
Were any sausage patties abused?
That whole era for me is some of his best. Mid-70s Zappa FTW. Bongo Fury and One SIze Fits All are two of my absolute favorite FZ records.
I just don't know how I feel about The Scarlet Gospels. While it was entertaining, something was just…off. The Harry D'Amour and friends plotline seemed more like a buddy comedy than an actual descent into hell. The Pinhead angle was more interesting to me. I agree that it didn't always make sense, but it was fun…
Pantera - Message In Blood
My Morning Jacket - Golden
Earth - The Dire And Ever-Circling Wolves
Bad Religion - Fuck Armageddon, This Is Hell
Pink Floyd - Shine On You Crazy Diamond
Les Claypool's Frog Brigade - Pigs (Three Different Ones)
Jimi Hendrix - Freedom
Weezer - Holiday
Captain Beefheart & The Magic Band - Korn Ring…
Just finished (re)reading Fear And Loathing On The Campaign Trail '72. It's a little crazy how easily you could substitute the name "Donald Trump" for "George Wallace" in that book.
