Also, they should just have Patrick Warburton do it.

Yeah, these systems aren’t built to accommodate the niche corners of the market occupied by ultra-luxury cars like this.

Does anyone at Jalopnik have a Carfax account to run the VIN? (the link on the dealer’s site is dead). That would tell you if they bought it at an auction or not.

I’m guessing the “base” model thing is a default setting on the software that they use to make listings, probably for anything that doesn’t have a trim

Tesla doesn’t know how to do the other things that make a car great, so acceleration is all they have.

Now, just for the record, this is not something that Elon was the first to dream up; the idea of rocket thrusters on non-rockets isn’t exactly new. Bosch demonstrated a thruster-assist for motorcycles in 2018, and I myself proposed the idea back in 2012, though both of these concepts were more about using them as

Reliability seems like it would be fairly objective, but J.D. Power and CR surveys say otherwise. One person’s “good” car is another person’s lemon, simply because they had to replace the brakes and shocks at 110K, whilst living in the Upper Midwest and never washing the car.

The Detroit Three - especially GM and FCA -

The Plaid+ battery would have been ~35kWh larger than a 100kWh Plaid (tough to find actual numbers quickly.) Even at 200$/kWh (quick Googling says current prices are <$150/kWh,) it only adds $7k of cost. There may be some more differences, but very likely of that $30K price increase, >$15K would be in profit. No way

They either didn’t get many bites or it would have cost too much to do one way or another.

I now see Phaetons all the time at the 200K miles range nowadays. So they can go the distance in terms of mileage

I guess it doesn’t help the tone when the poppy that features is the same used worldwide as the symbol of Remembrance Day.

Not at all.

That’s... not how anything works.

Dealers, I have a car to sell. It’s in high demand and very desirable. Perhaps you can meet me at the location of my choice? I’d like to develop a relationship with you. We can sit down and talk about how much you can afford to pay me, maybe put it in four handy little boxes labled “CASH”, “lotsa money”, “big moolah”

From the article:

Maybe you’re not reading the stats exactly right. I’m not a statistician so maybe I’m not either, but here we go.

Pondered this question just yesterday after a report of a two car crash on a rural highway near here. Multiple fatalities as occupants of both vehicles were ejected.

It is the poor bastards who have to clear up after them that I feel sorry for. Traumatizing ER and Ambulance crews, traumatizing road clear up crews, making innocent passers by who see their corpses and have to call the aforementioned go through all that too. Refusing to wear your seatbelt is not a victimless crime.

Yeah they’re both pretty sweet cars. I honestly don’t know which I’d choose if I had to pick one. They’ve both got a lot of strengths.

Having driven one, and comparing it to my B8 S4... I’d honestly rather take the Kia. If they weren’t so far out of my price range, I’d be trading in.
