The current Z does nothing for me and I generally dislike anything Nissan has made since, like, 2000? Even Godzilla, the technical marvel it is, is butt ugly and fat...But this is awesome. I love the rectangle grille. I love the low, wide rear. I love the throwback-ish taillights. They nailed it.

Or...hear me out! 195hp, FWD, raised up a little add some extra doors and because Nissan is fancy like that throw in an awesome CVT!!!

That’s how they made it cheap. And its a sports car. As far as i’m concerned the formula for the perfect sports car is “Make it drive more ore less old school, but with modern performance and reliability.

It’s a two-door sports car, what new technology do you absolutely have to have that this car doesn’t?

Where are you seeing round marker lights?

Come to think of it, Nissan already does have a color that would look beautiful on the Z. I hope it happens.

Everyone on this site: “I want a fast, stylish-but-not-overstyled, 300-400hp car with RWD, a manual transmission, and relatively analog underpinnings. I also want it for cheap.”

It’s gorgeous. Now that we’re seeing colors beyond yellow, I want to know where I can start lobbying to ask for my favorite color options, orange and brown.

This is like the anti-Supra. Understated instead of over-styled, distinct nods to its heritage. Give it the 400hp TT V6 and a stick, price it in the low-40s to compete with the Mustang GT and undercut the I6 Supra, and you’d have to win hearts and minds of enthusiasts everywhere, right?

LA is very stupid

If you think it's the average citizen voting that decides these matters, rather than lobbying groups and rich donors and influencers, you're a fucking moron.

I work for a healthcare industry contractor. One client site had the longest ongoing covid outbreak in the state for a year. State levied fine after fine for infection control violations related to cost-saving measures. Understaffing, inadequate PPE, ignoring quarantine measures, etc. Hundreds dead, many more hundreds

The people who are against the government picking winners and losers just doesn’t want the government picking YOU to win instead of them.

“People complain, but they pay the amount on the pump and keep driving.”

Funny you would take on Jalopnik, the group that drives, certainly, an inordinate number of inefficient gas powered sports cars and other less than fuel efficient vehicles. There are many, many super smart car people on here and nearly none of them doubts the revolution electric cars are bringing to the table. Poke

Kitman’s a fucking tree hugging, lunatic, anti-automotive, NYC journo... who... wait a minute... makes all of the sense.

Every car factory built in the South has been built with government subsidies. The people who decry the government ‘picking winners and loser’ sure don’t seem to have any problem in this instance.

helped put that formerly great magazine out of business.

As I posted the other day, the best quote I’ve seen was that the problem with America today is that people have been convinced that government should not work to make peoples’ lives better.

Correct.  See stock buy-backs.
