It had no reason to be when compared to the Accord or Camry. It should have been wagon only or even Alltrack only to set itself apart. They literally could have shown Passat Alltracks navigating around stuck Camries and Accords in their commercials.

I agree! I think if we had gotten a base wagon as a price leader and then the rest Alltracks, the Passat would have stood out against the Camry and Accord. Making it an also-ran sedan was a mistake.

They should have just brought over the euro sedan in a base trim as a price leader and then all the other models being wagons and Alltrack to at least make the Passat stand out amongst the competition. Why make two different cars?

The Passat Alltrack exists in Europe. Why the USA got it’s own dedicated platform instead of just giving us the Alltrack is beyond me.

It’s weird, the Kia dealerships I’ve been to are actually pretty good but the Hyundai ones are awful. But the worst I’ve ever personally been to was a Ford, old-school slimy sales tactics, “What can I do to get you to take this car home today!?”, literal greased back hair and tweed coat in 2018. I know it’s central

Nope, the hatchback lives on. We’re supposed to see what it looks like in the spring. The coupe however, is dead.

Aaaand now I’m searching AutoTempest for diesel wagons...

Oooh, or a first date where the other person goes “I don’t like drama” or “I’m not like other girls/guys”

Yep, this is why Gallons per 100 miles is so much better at showing efficiency gains than mpg. It’s crazy when you realize that going from 20mpg to 25mpg is the same efficiency impact as going from 33mpg to 50mpg

I’ve noticed that any dealership that talks about “not being like those other dealerships” is often the most egregious example of “those dealerships”

21 to 24 is a huge leap. In gallons per 100 miles, it’s the equivalent difference between the 4 cyl Camry and the Hybrid Camry, nearly a whole gallon per 100 miles.

I think Genesis and Mazda have the right strategy and I think if they are consistent in their design and execution, they’ll grow. Once they both get hybrids and plug-ins they’ll be a lot more prevalent as well.

The only thing I can think of is something Jeremy Clarkson used to say when he reviewed a great car from a brand that doesn’t have much cache. People don’t want cars they have to explain “No no, Mazda is not owned by Ford! Their stuff is really high quality!” or “ it’s actually best in class and just as reliable as

I actually got NSX vibes

Wouldn’t put it past Honda. They had that awesome green and yellow for the civic but kept it coupe only. The hatchback got a special grey instead and the sedan got a brick red. Good job on the creativity there Honda.

A PHEV hatchback would be perfect.

I like the orange, I'll wait and see what the hatchback looks like though.

Completely understand but I’ve just always liked the audacity of a full picture of a tiger on a license plate.

As a native Ohioan, I’ve always liked these Pennsylvania plates

7. I think car and driver said that they got 9 mpg
