Everyone worried about the turbo going: that was a problem for the VF40-equipped cars, which were 2005-2006's. The 2007+’s switched to a different, non-explodey turbo (VF46, I believe).

Absolutely do it. They’re cheaper than ever, and have aged very well. If you find a clean, adult-driven one (which there are plenty of), snatch it up right quick.

I guess I’m a little confused... Some of the things I like about my daily (2008 Acura TL) are precisely the things you’re changing! Haha.

I have a non-S TL, and I love it to death. Mine is bone-stock, and an automatic, but it’s still a phenomenal daily.

According to the all-knowing and never-lying Internet, a few people have actually done it. And it’s actually easier than you’d think, as long as you can come across a salvaged M3 you can freely cannibalize.
