#7 kind of struck me as strange because that photo is of I-95 in Miami, which aside from the hours of 7-9am and 4-6pm moves along quite rapidly. Every time I have been down there I find I'm doing 80 just to keep up. Trucks, cars AND police are cruising at that speed. I got passed one night by and Aston Martin being

I personally like having, ya know... a passenger seat! Gives the date somewhere to sit aside from the trunk. Maybe that's just me?!?

I would say you are pretty close to right that it's about a '66 on this Type 2 Bus. A Type 1 is a bug or Karmann Ghia... I know, it's early... and Sunday. I'm asking myself, why am I even out of bed already?

Nice to see a 5'er running so well. Still not sure that the guys in Munich will want to use this as a testament to their racing prowess!

@87CapriceEstate: Not so sure about it being an improvement! Especially after reading about the "reliability" of the Caddy engine. Original goal for the mini was a turbo 2.5l with a attainable 250 hp, then I was thinking 3.0l turbo ala Stealth aka 3000GT... But then the little devil on my shoulder got the wise idea to

@Scoutch: HMMMM!!! ~sounds of rusty gears turning~ Not the trolling part, but actually using a rotary on top of a smallblock that would be interesting. NAHHHHH, needs a 'charger from a train or somethin'! "Ease" is a relative term of course, but the RX chassis seems especially well suited to handle a V-8. The engine

I don't frequent too many online forum pages... I get in, get my info and get out. E46fanatics.com seems pretty tame aside from half the members wanting to rice out their Kraut-mobiles, the Caddy forums I have been reading lately have seemed single minded focused on repairing the blown head gaskets on the Nor'Stars...

@87CapriceEstate: Seriously? There is a Chrysler minivan site... How did I miss that? I need to go check it out and go trolling, tell them I am putting a Chebbie motor in mine. More specifically, a Caddy Nor'Star. HAHA

@Baby Beater Benz: Oddly enough, my BMW (E46) does the exact opposite... it will open all the windows and sunroof with the key but won't close them with it, even though the European models will go both ways. And the dealer can't/won't change that.

So much more "character" than those stuffy trailer queens!

@turbo1168: And another thing I liked about the yard was the separation of cars by manufacturer AND trucks and vans were separate too. That and the concrete lot, not dirt and rock!

And to think I was quite impressed with the self-service yard in Hialeah Fl. They had guys in golf carts with air tools and jacks and would pull stuck bolts and help get the parts out from under the vehicle you were working on for a measly 10 bucks (WELL WORTH IT IN THE 100 DEGREE HEAT). I needed a K-member with

Like driving a car with Chlamidia... HUH?

I have owned, or rebuilt countless Beetles and Mopar Turbo and non-Turboes and they both are easy and parts are plentiful, so it was quite difficult to make the decision... Ultimately I chose the Shelby even though I believe it is not the turbo model. The picture isn't quite clear enough to tell if it has the power

DUH, Captain Obvious sez...

@LTDScott: Correct again, but they had turbo Daytona's and K-cars.

Now playing

I voted NP, even though it isn't an "original". It's clean and a 2.5l and a slushbox is nothing to sneeze at...

@LTDScott: You are correct, the GLH-S's had the Shelby Centurian wheels but the 1984 turbo cars wore these if opted for.

@ThreeLitre: You will enjoy it! Mine is an '01 330ci and they are a blast to drive...
