You know, Tesla actually makes some pretty decent cars. I’d like them to keep doing what they’re doing.

The CLA was a sedan based on the old A-Class. I assume the A-Class sedan will supercede the CLA at some point.
Debate about coupes aside...why will the Cayenne Coupe exist? Its not-quite-a-fastback profile is probably more usable than an X6's, but it looks so similar to the regular model as to be nearly indistinguishable. Maybe a bit uglier.
Don’t the Koch brothers own a natural gas company? You know, the kind of fuel that’s used in electric power plants and not conventional cars? Wouldn’t they benefit from widespread EV adoption, which Tesla is inspiring?
When the F30 launched, lots of reviewers said they preferred the 4-cylinder. At 5.6 seconds to 60, it wasn’t exactly slow. And the reduced weight under the hood was significant enough to make the car feel better-balanced.
For what it’s worth, the FR-S/BRZ have liftbacks.
I fully agree! I’m not sure why sedans were ever a thing (I think it had something to do with torsional rigidity back in the day), but it seems like we’ve engineered our way beyond those problems. The only problem left unsolved is public perception.
I bet the Buick has more equipment than those two have. I’d be surprised if either of these cars had massaging seats at that price.
It’s worth mentioning that this 4-cylinder has the same displacement as Ford’s base EcoBoost V6.
EVs are clearly a boon to urban health.
The Supra is basically a rebadged BMW Z4, with BMW engines and transmissions. And BMW doesn’t really do manual anymore. Subaru, on the other hand, sells a decent amount of manual cars and is likely inclined to keep building them.
The SS didn’t sell too well, but I thought the G8 sold pretty well. It was a much cheaper car when new. If we had a six-cylinder Falcon, I bet it would be a better fit for the US market than the Taurus is.
Is this the Element in minivan form? The interior and seating arrangments look very similar.
With the S7 and S8, there has been one hardware package for all carriers. The same will likely apply here.
Fine. It’s surely capable. But why not buy the more capable X3 for less?
Why not buy something on the lower end of your budget, like an E24, and pour money into making it your own? The remaining $20-25K could be used to modify the interior, or swap an LS/335d engine into it, or both.
Point me towards a SportCross with 140K miles for $5200 and I will buy it today.
You missed the best part! The ad says “See what makes the Outlander Plug-In Hybrid EV the only PHEV Crossover in its Class.”
I’d select the RAV4 V6, under similar circumstances. They’re actually kind of fun to drive, and much quicker than the Outback while posting similar fuel economy.
