"so Nintendo's homophobic stance doesn't quite click" - this is so off base it hurts. Not only has Nintendo apologised for the oversight, but they've also promised to be more inclusive for future titles. It's not homophobic, it was a mistake.

Games don't get points taken away for not having homosexuality in them. They get points taken away for being homophobic. It's a big difference.

Questionable plot devices and so so voice acting aside, Other M was a fine game. Team Ninja had little input with the plot, and NOA handled the english translation. Any misgivings you have with Other M should be directed at Nintendo, not Team Ninja.

They explained Amiibo further after the Direct, they won't unlock characters, they act as a trainable CPU fighter that you can customize and then fight with or against. So you won't have to worry about fighters locked behind a paywall :)
