Oh, the irony! When I was a kid, kids played the kid video games and adults played the adult video games. Now, it's the other way around. Nowadays, kids are playing adult video games to prove that they are "mature" and adults are playing kid video games for nostalgic reasons.
Trying to twist someone's opinion on something is utter bullshit. I learned that from researching politics in general.
What some people don't get that cartoonish style games tend to age better than realistic style games. I remember playing a "mature" style Link 10 years ago; he was in the GameCube version of SoulCalibur II!

What I think Nintendo is trying to do is to make the 2DS something reminiscent of the Game Boy, Game Boy Color, and the original Game Boy Advance.
I see the Mega Pokemon evolutions as something more akin to going Super Saiyan like in Dragon Ball Z or Asura's six-armed form from Asura's Wrath.
