Yeah, that sounds like one of those changes that are made in service of actually making a movie that has dialogue in it. I haven't read BFG, so I can't attest to it specifically, but if they hadn't put Wyborn in the Coraline movie, there would have been a whole lot of Coraline walking around not talking to anyone.

I don't think they're going to, like, make the previously male characters female. I second that opinion. I don't know how many times I've been browsing on my phone and seen one of these "facts you might not know" articles on here, only to get disheartened when I discover that it's a video that I don't want to view on my phone.
