We had career day every year during my elementary school tenure.
Dated a gal in pharmacy school, whose brother was in med school. Both went on to becoming a pharmacist and spine surgeon, respectively.
I know a guy who, in 8th grade, came home from school to his mobile trailer…and found his best friend—also an 8th grader—banging said guy's mom.
Blame 'South Park'.
I'm more partial to her as Ms. Indestructible.
I got to sit right next to Joe Lansdale (and his family) at the Houston premiere of 'Bubba Ho-Tep', and I gushed about how much I'd enjoyed the "Critters" episode.
Back in the mid-90s, the Warner Bros. Studio Stores (remember those?) in our frou-frou galleria had a guest appearance / signing by Kevin Conroy, the star of 'Batman: The Animated Series'.
Go back farther. 'It's Your Move' was outstanding.
Count Floyd was my favorite character, hands down.
The famed Blue Bell Creamery (of Blue Bell Ice Cream fame) tour has a movie about the history of the family and the product, and James Karen has a key role. I think he plays the founder and patriarch, if I recall correctly.
The hardest I had ever laughed in my 12-year old life was the reveal of the dude with the megaphone alarm during the 'Fistful' segment.
I think that's addressed in a commentary or old Fangoria article. They really wanted that "hobo sexytime scene" (you know which one) to be effective, and her being all grodolated would've ruined the effect.
Sharpstown Mall Theatre, 1993. I've still got the tattered Houston Chronicle movie page in a box somewhere.
The whole film is pretty lousy, and that ending MJ cameo nearly ruins it, but the scene with the petstore is pretty snazzy. (Which was cribbed from Romero's novelization of 'Dawn Of The Dead', actually.)
I'm one of the half-dozen people on the planet that saw Part III in the theatres. Here in Houston, it was screened at one cinema, which was in a dying mall on the far side of town. And it premiered on a Tuesday, only to be gone gone by Thursday night to make way for the new Friday debuts. The only way I knew about…
I KNEW I forgot something from the list. Thank you!
My buddy, who's a HUUUUUGE WWII nut, pointed out some key details about kindly old mortician Ernie that I would have otherwise totally missed:
'Jason X' is gold, if only for this line:
"They're coming to get you, Barbara."
