What year was this? What models would you recommend? Sedans or Wagons (I prefer Wagons) I’ve been looking at Volvos for the first time. 2002-2006 versions are abundant for 3-5k in my area.

Same boat spent a long time looking for these ended up having to settle for something else and often think about what could have been, it’s a beautiful car.

Good lord, you bought a car with 250,000 miles on it? Short of a few diesel heavy duties or a Toyota truck, I think I’d be too chicken.

*edit* just saw that you’re Canadian, so I assume you’re talking KM. I stand by my earlier statement, but add a few more Toyotas to the list of things I wouldn’t be too chicken to buy…

For a relatively small car, the cargo area is really nicely sized...much more so than the V60 that replaced it, and like you said, more than many crossovers. My MIL’s Murano has trouble loading the amount of stuff that goes easily in the V50's boxy shape.

The originals were the worst swimmers! It was my favorite part (being from a very swimmy family).

The thing that bothers me most about this is no lifeguard with ANY actual training would dive into the water like that. You can’t see anything and it’s safer to do a tuck jump just in case.
