I’m not familiar with her, but as I finished the article and saw that one of her books was already optioned into a movie, any remaining sympathy dissipated immediately.
Ya know, I’m decent human being who likes engaging in conversations that would hopefully evolve our understanding of things and make the world a better place, but this movie is not for me and I don’t need to see it or support it to be a decent human being doing those things.
But her job had no problem with her clothing. Some random asshole making it seem like she was prioritizing her “hip outfit” over a horrible murder of a kid when that is what she always wears is really fucking shitty.
Or another way to look at it: extroverts find social interaction refreshing, introverts find social interaction taxing.
Let me apologize on behalf of all the people who enjoy things you dont; we have clearly committed the most grave sin against you, the center of our universe.
I’m thoroughly enjoying your articles, Ms. D’Anastasio. I started wondering, had I missed your stuff over the past two years? But it seems you’ve only been here since June, so I haven’t been completely oblivious.
Basically.
i see it more as a business relationship than a friendship
The New York Post confirmed the news, reporting that, “ITS A NO GO FOR TAYTO!”
I think it was around 7th grade that my mom and I both agreed to not buy all the stuff at the beginning of the year. Sometimes the teacher didn’t follow the list at all and we ended up buying a bunch of extra stuff we didn’t need. Buying as needed works pretty well.
When I think of ethical living, 715$ furry sandals rarely come to mind.
Is back-to-school shopping going the way of the rotary phone and the nickel soda?
Yeah, it’s either young sexy woman or actress Margaret Martindale (who is sexy, but in a more understated way).
Actually he inserted himself into her performance and tried to humiliate her, which she was (rightly so) having none of. Neither was the audience. If you don’t like her as a comic, fine. But why aren’t you focusing on this guy’s entitled, misogynistic behavior?
I don’t understand most of your response. I’ve heard she was accused of stealing a joke but I actually don’t really care. She has an immense body of work so one or two of her jokes are bound to resemble another comedian’s from time to time. It happens when you’ve produced as much material as she has.
You don’t understand how comedy shows work, do you? You AREN’T supposed to yell shit out uninvited. The audience did not pay to hear joe-blow sexist bro in the third row yell shit that is less funny then what’s on stage. He deserved what he got.
Wow... so she humiliated and used someone as a pawn for laughs?
Well I agree with you in that I don’t think Amy Schumer is always a shining beacon of feminism but why call her a hack? She is obviously talented, funny and incredibly charismatic and has done a lot of things right to be where she is now. If it is a discussion you seek, starting it off with such a petty statement is…
Jo Brand has been known to say “shut up or I’ll sit on your face. I have my period.”
