I respect them 1000% more now. Adults should, and need to be able to make their own decisions in life and gaming, and it’s not a job of some mega corp to decide what is or isn’t good for me.

Why is it a terrible idea? Because freedom of speech and choices might make you see things you don’t like?

I agree 100%. Some people these days literally seem to want some mega corps and the government to think for themselves and eliminate any kind of content that goes against their (fairly limited) world view.

I’ve come to the conclusion that anyone unironically using the term “toxic” as an adjective to things he does not like, is nothing more than a child that hates making choices for himself.

People here, they did EXACTLY what we wanted them to do:

Why ?

We’ve had those for decades. The author of this article’s just one of those people who want corporations and governments to patronize and guide them, rather than having to make their own choices and live with the fact that someone might mod a game so that it conflicts with his political agenda.

Because it’s totally OK when you can blow, torch, urinate on top and smash every single person of all backgrounds and ages + their cats in some games, but a cheap tactical shooter MP game utilizing school shootings as its context is suddenly a big no no?

...OR, you know, since Steam has practically become the synonym with “PC gaming”, and the huge majority of all gamers ESPECIALLY on the PC side are adults.... just maybe they considered the possibility of the people not being some bunch of children that need to be patronized, and rather that they can make their own

We’re thinking “Hmm... an adult person should be able to think and choose for himself, and avoid the kind of content he is not fond of.”

If they increase the game import fee any further, it’ll result a literal consolification of the entire service. Meaning only AAA publishers will start releasing their crap on the Steam, filling the catalog with the exact rehashed, disposable and patronizing crap everyone over the age of 15 hates.

The truly shit devs won’t even waste the import fee to Valve, so you’ll never see them. The few that do obviously won’t sell well, and will fade away naturally. I don’t see what the problem here is exactly, besides some man-babies being upset that they might have to make decisions for themselves rather than a big corp

No, because the people making BLATANT shovelware don’t want to waste a hundred bucks just to get their 15 minutes of fame. It seems like that certain minor demographic just seems to be upset about the fact that you may actually see some more anime tiddies and games that allow you to play as a 1940s German citizen.

...So you don’t even know that people need to pay 100 bucks to even be allowed to upload their games on Steam these days, and feel shocked that most people consider it to be the responsibility of the person himself, not some megacorp, to choose what is or isn’t acceptable for himself?

...And that’s a good thing!

....Why is it a terrible idea? An actually liberal and open release platform is now a “bad thing”? Or is it that Steam no longer appeals to one specific political agenda, and that is making you angry?

So once again, a Jewtaku “”journalist”” is shocked that there exists a game / mod that lets you create alternative history events, outside the ancient past setting, and does not realize that you actually do not need to be a literal Hitler to appreciate and allow existence of such products?

1) Not everyone’s a bloody yank, thank god

You’re one extreme racist yourself for assuming everyone else to be racist, just because they enable certain features in a video game.

Most people still haven’t learned that Soviet Union / Russia is bad, but here we are. Everyone’s still ranting about “muh Nazis!!!”, no matter that it was your grand-grand-parents that created that hot mess in the first place, but no one ever even mentions the pure genocide and world conquering attempts of the USSR.
