Why should they not shop for one on Craigslist. It's a perfectly legitimate marketplace. Not everyone can afford to buy an iPhone brand new.

At $549 retail. iPhone 4's still sell for up to $450 (but more likely $350) 2nd hand around these parts... I'd take my chances with craigslist/kijiji.

I'm not a lawyer so I don't know if it's the legal system or the current state of patent law itself, but I don't think a patent that was purchased after a suit was filed should be able to have any effect on the suit, including intimidation into settling.

Well, it's not really their responsibility. And who's to say it's actually stolen? They can't just 'lock down' or locate and attempt to recover all stolen iPhones/iPods. If they did, what would stop criminals from selling them, reporting them stolen and attempting to get them back?
