Of course they said it a bajillion times. It's a rebranding, they have to make sure that everyone knows when they talk about the MS Surface they are not talking about MS PixelSense aka the original MS Surface.

You're right in that the name likely stems from the touch interface however they are two distinct product lines, 'surface' is not a term to encompass all of their touch offerings. They rebranded the original MS Surface as PixelSense, likely because they thought surface was a cooler name for a tablet.
PS. I read in the comments somewhere that the new surface has 600dpi stylus with pressure, I didn't bother to fact check that though.
True. I wonder if the proximity sensitivity will allow a difference in ink flow, although that'd take some getting used to.
I agree on that one. It will require a flat hard surface, it's no laptop/ultra book competitor as it can't actually be used on your lap.
Nope. Better hide those doorstops when you him Mr. Cook over.
Your first comment and it's a good one. Replying to unpinkify you.
I think you mean Apple did patent the shape "wedge"...
It's a 10.x", 16:9 screen, the width will be fairly similar to the Apple BT keyboard.
Mat, you mention how this could be a sweet replacement for a MacBook Air that's even more portable. However, the reason a journalist can use a MacBook Air so effectively is because of its rigidity. Try balancing this thing on your lap with that little 30 degree kickstand and magnetically attached 3mm thick flexible…
I didn't even notice. I think I see the difference now, the black one seems to have more pronounced buttons. However, the colorful ones still seem to have 'buttons', or rather, separated areas like buttons which I imagine would be just as good as a button, maybe even better because you don't have to push, but still…
"Touch Cover comes in five vibrant colors. Type Cover offers classic typing experience for those who prefer a more traditional keyboard. Pick the one that best meets your needs and represents your sense of style."
Ok, I will give you that one. Nothing a fancy pocket projector couldn't solve ;) . Or possibly 'semantic zoom' whatever that is?
Same real estate as a laptop, just smaller size. This is 1080p. You said you're using a 15" laptop, so depending on the quality of that laptop this may even have more screen real estate. Plug in your 27" monitor and it will be exactly the same, you'll just have a smaller device running everything. Seems win-win to me.
If you're using an Intuos tablet anyway then isn't this going to be exactly the same as using a laptop. All your interaction is done on the Intuos - this would just be the screen, just like a laptop would just be the screen in the same scenario.
I couldn't believe how much those actually tasted just like eating an actual cheeseburger.
I think Apple will look real hard for a reason to reject it, but if Google plays by the rules then it will get through. I am inclined to think Google will make their own App and include all the features you get in the Android App. Now that it'd be their own App that they have full control over, I see no reason for…
Apple doesn't reject Apps based on competing with native services anymore.
Actually, he's right. Considering they said 'type 1 diabetes afflicts some 30,000...' than he is right in saying that it's more like 3,000,000, unless you're implying that diabetes only causes grievance to newly diagnosed patients.
