No problem. It's great. And the movie version isn't too bad either if you have short attention span or just want to get the gist of it.

Thanks man ! A lot of work went into it. Appreciate that... Did the butterfly towards the bottom flap it's wings for you? I've had reports that it's not always doing it.

Hey who knows, maybe Blackberry will jump back...........

Yes, it's a good point to make. But severance has nothing to do with performance and everything to do with negotiating a good contract, unfortunately. And in this case, it's actually quite low for a multi billion dollar company.

I wholeheartedly agree. Want to make something modern and slick? Pretty much can't support IE... Although I managed to make this work in IE pretty well.

It doesn't work that way. If he originally built it for IE, it'd have taken 8 hours, Chrome and FF would probably still display it correctly, but it would not be built properly according to modern web development standards because of all the old tricks/hacks he'd have to use for IE.

How is this greedy? Are you a Web developer? Do you know how much Web developers get paid and how much extra work it takes to make a website work the same in Internet Explorer 7 and below? Depending on their revenue, 6.8% may not even cover it.

Pretty sure the day before his spending spree he got an email from a Nigerian Prince who wished to transfer a large sum of money through his bank account for which he would be paid a handsome $1.5 million compensation. No crime here.

How do you know he knew it wasn't his? For all we know the day before his spending spree he got an email from a Nigerian Prince who wished to transfer a large sum of money through his bank account for which he would be paid a handsome $1.5 million compensation.

But I bet you couldn't have built it in the first place for all the money in the world... Or maybe you could, I don't really know you.

Have you read freakonomics? You should look into causality. The more they 'stuff up' is not what causes them to get more money. I think it's more so the bigger the company, the more there is to 'stuff up', also, the bigger the company the larger the severance package negotiated into the contract is which means, CEO's

Yes, not to mention they invented the Blackberry and built the company into the (once) largest smartphone manufacturer in the world.

Considering they're both billionaires*. I'd say so. (assuming they were smart and sold their stock long ago)

That's what I was thinking. This actually seems low for the CEO severance package of a billion dollar company. Yes, it's a lot of money, but I've seen much more in severance packages.

That's not quite what happened here since Jim and Mike invented the Blackberry and built the company together from nothing.

They had a fairly proven track record, since in the 15 years before the downfall they took RIM from non-existent to the largest smartphone manufacturer in the world, worth billions and billions of dollars.

+1

Yes, that makes perfect sense. I'm a Web (and newb iOS) developer, so I know exactly what you mean.
