Well most people don't go looking through the other comments for my edits. If I realize I made a mistake, I own up to it.

This is especially true because it's a 15". Normally the 17" was bought mostly by the people who need the higher end of the line. The 15" MBP has always had a large consumer market.
You could embiggen the video and watch 1/4 at a time, that'd do 'er justice.
Didn't you hear about the new Retina-Pushâ„¢ technology they announced that pushes extra pixels to your display over IP? Get with the times ;)
I completely agree. Why do we work hard to make money, if not to spend it on whatever the hell we want.
I buy Apple laptops for the build quality. They are solid machines. They don't bend/break when you pick them up from the side with one hand like a plastic laptop does. The high end features like a retina display are a bonus not a requirement, for me anyway.
Does anyone know if this can run at pixel for pixel resolution, instead of using doubling? I've got good eyes and I love having more screen real estate.
You can dual boot and run both side by side at 1440x1800. It'd be like running a 2 monitor machine. Except everything would be very tiny.
"Cool that the 3GS gets the update, but what exactly does it get?"
Did you see my edit? Pretty sure the voice portion doesn't work, just on screen turn by turn, still better than before.
PS. I'm a developer. Nothing unscrupulous. Although if you come work for me you can have iOS 6 too ;)
I will certainly take the trip. But I'm going to go out on a limb and say the voice portion won't work because only the 4S has the voice simulator.
See my edit. The turn by turn may work (on screen changing directions, still better than the old system), but not the voice portion. This is probably attributed to the fact that only the 4S has the voice simulator built in (Siri)
Edit not working...
I loaded iOS 6 onto my old 3GS yesterday and turn by turn works just fine. No flyover though, which makes sense as it's very heavy on graphics processing.

Hey Sam, you should test before you report. I loaded iOS 6 onto my older 3GS last night and turn by turn works just fine the only thing missing is flyover, which makes sense due to the heavy graphical nature of it.
They need to do some research before they report. I loaded iOS 6 onto my old 3GS last night and turn by turn works just fine, just no flyover. Which makes sense because they uses a lot of graphical power.
Yes it is because Mountain Lion has AirPlay streaming from Mac to Apple TV
Farewell my trusty 17" MBP :(
