They can't 'force' Google completely off the phone or they'll be looking at anti trust fines, there will always be a choice. Apple may come out with better maps, which I'll use. Yes. As the others said. However, be careful, if you don't have Verizon LTE you'll fall back on the EV-DO 3G which is only 3.1Mbps. If you don't have Verizon LTE, you might as well go for the AT&T iPad because then you'll fall back on a 21Mbps (or even 42Mbps depending on the area) 3G, which is obviously much better.
