As far as I have read it might take tens of millions of years or longer depending what the peak atmospheric pressure would be.

I am a 3d Generalist, I’ve dabbled with lighting and environments but consider myself a character/creature texture painter, surfacing/shading/lookdev artist, character sculptor, and concept artist. It’s interesting sometimes artists who love to draw just never find something they like in CG/3D. I drew all my life and…
Couldn’t agree more. I work in VFX, and there is surprisingly little debate for CGI vs. Practical. Most artists love both and many were inspired into their careers by films like Jurassic Park, Bladerunner, Star Wars, etc. Myself included.
I’m curious how much CG was in MMFR, as I wouldn’t be suprised if it is more than has been marketed. To any extent CG makes practical effects better and vice versa. That’s that important lesson studios need to take home and it seems as though some already are (Interstellar, Moon, are other examples). Where I think CG…
It was marketed that way. In their interviews together Nolan told Kip he would ultimately tell the story he wanted to tell regardless of scientific accuracy. If we’re going to complain about scientific accuracy, Why not send robotic scouts to each planet rather than committing the entire ship each time? I still…
As soon as they mentioned the 10% myth I stopped watching the trailer.
Pegg needs to read some Kim Stanley Robinson, then some of Kim Stanley Robinson’s speeches where he advocates for the value of science fiction.
I thought the point of that scene was that Theon is going to try to ‘save’ Sansa even though she has a plan of her own to remove Ramsey. Sansa already knew that Ramsey was a brutal, foul human being, and that almost not one around him actually likes or respects him. He rules through fear only. Over the next 4 episodes…
Really hoping they fix the inciting incident. Due to the near vaccumm, winds on Mars could barely topple a child let alone communications equipment.
I believe there is a strong case that we can in fact live on Mars.
It's limiting to believe it needs to be an either or. Why can't we do both? Nasa and Space barely register against the cost/expense of the military industrial complex. That seems like a better target to cut.
I admire and applaud their efforts to make their dream a reality. From my perspective atleast it seems as though it strays a little too far into typical doom and gloom robot uprising story that have been popular recently. We have these super intelligent machines and all their concerned with is killing human beings?…
Ria, There was a report by BBC in the last couple of weeks that suggested that the science team for Curiosity discovered a fatty acid in one of their samples/detectors. Did you hear about this: http://www.bbc.com/news/science-e…
Islands.
I wonder if working as an artist in VFX/Animation trained this sort of openess.

I'm not sure what the trend is in Canada but at this moment there are some regional differences.
Going to go for a bold one, strongest evidence for life on Mars yet, a minimum of Methane confirmed by MOM, and evidence for either fossils or extant life. For the record I only suggest fossils as I doubt Mars is lifeless, it just might not be in a location (or depth) that Curiosity can access.
Also, the 'move on with your lives' statement was directed towards racists, not victims of racism. My impression was that some thought I was suggesting people should just 'get over' being bullied/discriminated against, that's not the case. Peace.
I'm not saying they should be ignored. I have to be honest I did not expect this reaction. My only point was that we need to recognize our common humanity over our differences. I apologize if I offended anyone.
