Some of you might be interested in watching this video, it details NASA's attempts to create Q-thrusters and attempts to create a 'warp bubble' for an Alcubierre drive.

Almost all animal life on Earth derives it's energy from one of three ways.

I'm not sure I agree with your impression of the film. I think Judge was suggesting that intellectuals and/or career minded people should get over themselves and their fear that children will stunt their careers and breed or adopt some children. Judge laid it all out in that sequence. Who comes off as more

Really interesting article. Can't help but remember the book The Sparrow. Poor Emilo.

It's poorly paced for one. The Harvey Dent Two-Face subplot didn't work for me and many others who don't give a fuck about the comics or comics in general. Also it takes it self extremely fucking seriously and it's a movie about a man wearing a bat cape awhile fighting crime. At least Pacific Rim knew it was a film

I'm late to the party but I thought I might ask a question and see if you wonder on back here. I've been reading about the recurrent slope linae for awhile now and the past week or so I've read news reports about gullies caused by dry ice rather than water. Does this rule out briney/saline water as a cause for the RSL

So many times now... You watch a sequel with high expectations that it would match the previous film(s) only to be Episode 1'd, Prometheus'd, Matrix Reloaded'd, Godzilla'd (twice now, hated both the Broderick film and the film that was marketed as though Bryan Cranston was the star). So many disappointments. Again and

When the sequel/remake is better than the original I don't understand what the complaining is about. The old films are clunky, the special effects are so bad by today's standards that they're unwatchable. The less said about Burton's attempt the better. Dawn and Rise are good blockbuster films, some of the best of

I doubt it, the casting and or special effects would be a nightmare. If they went the cheaper route for the Belters (casting tall gangly actors) they limit their choices, especially if they wanted to emphasis the size of Earthers by casting people with average or below average height as well. i.e they'd be limiting

I don't think Aldrin has really researched SpaceX's plans very deeply. I mean the company was founded to facilitate the colonization of Mars by massively lowering costs. I don't get the impression it's some Branson-like extreme sports type stunt, Musk wants to go to Mars to stay just like Aldrin suggests people should.

Really depends what you want to do? If you're already using Sketchup and Vray then look into modeling, texture, lighting, and shading.

It's usually only frustrating when it's cut entirely or it was your favourite/major contribution to that production :) I agree completely that it shouldn't be an obvious effect. A story you'll often hear is 'I spent 2 months working on X and it was out of focus behind an Actor's head'. One of the best stories I've

The director and main creative forces behind the project at a minimum have to understand what makes the original source material appealing and or important.

Maybe the robotic Lunar Flyby? beyond that I don't expect we will see this Asteroid Redirect considering it slated to happen after Obama leaves office (and support for it isn't especially high).

Why rush? She's clearly talented, with training she could be extraordinary.

How accurate is this? The Birmingham accent reminds me a lot of Australian accents. So much so that I am left wondering whether or not the early settler population comprised a large percentage of people from Birmingham. To the internet!

We only see a small region in the trailers, it's entirely possible that the there are deadzones around powerplants. There is only 1 nuclear power plant in California.

The books leave the impression that the climate north of the Wall isn't uniform, similar to how the climate along the 60th parallel isn't uniform in our reality either. I didn't get the impression that the characters were constantly travelling through snow and across glaciers, sometimes perhaps, but not all the time
