But Consumer Reports thinks the Subaru Impreza and Mazda 3 are both better than the Civic and Corolla, and they say so in their ratings and reviews. They liked the last generation 3 and Impreza more than the last gen Civic and Corolla also.

Is the reason the First and Business class photos show a solid rear wall and curtain because they are mockups, and in the real plane there will be partitions akin to what's shown in the Economy image you posted?
I'm fairly certain the easiest way to tell is to look at the engine nacelle. The CFM56 has a noticeably larger fan diameter than the GE CF34s that power the E-series. The inlet opening, even on the NGs, is also slightly non-circular.
All the stuff I get in the mail focuses much more on other issues, but maybe it's because I'm just not tuned in to hear/see any remarks about auto safety.
You're welcome. I'm always down for a calm, reasonable discussion.
Uhhh, what politician has ever said during any speech or at any point on the campaign trail ever "didn't make any progress on immigration, but we did mandate stability control, which makes your SUV safer"? I don't think any politicians especially "want credit" for safety.
This is a commonly held belief, but the trouble is that customer service only works when you have to compete for your customers. Comcast is a private company - do you think they do a great job with customer service? Verizon and AT&T are private companies - are most of their customers thrilled with the price they pay…
I think about this too much, so I have a lot of ideas of highly variable quality...
My parents would probably be imprisoned for this. I hassle them about it every time I'm in the car with them.
I think the key with Mini for any of their models is to avoid the options list as much as possible. Besides, the "stripper" Cooper Countryman S All4 isn't exactly an empty box with wheels bolted on. In any case, anything that combines manual and anything beyond the base configuration of a car is pretty tough to find,…
Agreed. Deliberately "futuristic" typefaces will just look extra-dated later. I have to say though, I really wish I could buy an Aptera. They might not have been fast, safe, or fun, but they looked like the future! The driveway of 2040 could totally be an Aptera 2e and a VW XL1.
It's funny because mentally, I associate the angular red rocket logo from the 80s and 90s with boxy, mediocre, badge-engineered cars like the Cutlass Ciera*, Cutlass Calais, Cutlass Supreme, whereas I associate the swoopier logo with some of their incredible concepts in the late 90s, as well as the Aurora, which was a…
Ugh, the BL logo is just awful. I guess it's supposed to look like a wheel or turbine, but it doesn't really work. Also, what it represents is a bit embarrassing.
The cool part of the logo, IMO, is the planet with the swoosh and hatch mark, since it looks a little like the path of a satellite around a planet and some sort of futuristic space plane. The Boeing logo looks alright, but prior to the merger, was just their name, rendered in italic all caps.
Man I love the Skoda logo/emblem. I don't really know what it is, but I don't really care. Best logo in the VAG car range, and it's a funky green color too. And that funky green color is the signature paint color for their hot vRS models. </skodafanboy>
We're in familiar territory now. A lot of people remember Celine Dion singing for some cars in black-and-white commercials in the early 2000s. Fewer people remember it was for the Chrysler Crossfire, among other cars. I'm sure what she was really screaming about while driving the Crossfire, though, was in regards to…
Yeah, it was bad. You could get a great financing deal on a Chevette, just 12.8%.
If anything is misleading, it is the reporting of the test results in the news, with alarmist "Car X is unsafe!!" headlines to get people's attention.
Any NYPD car, honestly.
Wait, you missed a great example of selling safety from Volvo. It doesn't show the cars, which might have been a mistake, but it shows more than one example of survivors. The ad is called "Survivors":
