Agreed. I think the Ultralight looked even better in normal concept form. Plus those doors are almost referenced by the Aptera.

Yes she did, and to be honest, this commercial makes me want a Plymouth Laser much more than Tina Turner's efforts.
Yet further proof that Mazda is the new Honda.
Much smoother, sweeter engine in the Mazda 5. The autobox is also better, or you can get a manual FTW. The PT Cruiser looks less like a minivan, but manages to look worse at the same time.
Let me clarify what I mean by "8 seconds is hardly slow." It was not that long ago (the 90s) that 11 or 12 seconds to 60 from a 4-cylinder mid-size car was considered acceptable performance. Now, if a car takes 9 or 10 seconds to do 0-60, it's considered dog slow.
While 8 seconds 0-60 is not as fast as 6.8, 8 seconds is hardly slow. I mean, how fast do you really need to get to 60? I'd argue that what really matters is the clutch/shifting experience, since you'll be doing that every time you drive, while you probably won't be trying to hit 60 away from every stoplight.
The Opel Insignia is sold in the US as the Buick Regal. We also get the turbo version with a manual transmission that I think is called the Insignia OPC in the European market. Sadly, as with almost everything else, we don't get the wagon.
It must be because of RHD. I'm always amazed at the prices of the Top Gear challenges. If you tried to buy a car here for $2400 (~£1500), you'd likely be buying a car that was either in need of $1000s in repairs or was not a great car to start. A cursory search of eBay revealed a 2002 Honda Civic coupe with 219,000…
How did 0-60 in 11.8 seconds become "an eternity"? It seems like a decade or two ago, needing 11.8 seconds to get to 60 would have been slow but acceptable and 14 or 15 seconds ''an eternity.'' Now it seems like anything that isn't sub 10 seconds is catastrophically slow. Why do we need to get to 60 so quickly,…
I like how the line running through the grille extends through the headlamps and the division is mirrored the lower air intake and thinner intake along the spoiler. I don't like that the line that runs through the grille and headlights and the bumper/fender seam is just a little lower than the character line running…
Yes, I believe it is I-10 and 45, viewed from above 45 and looking roughly SSE.
I believe he supports using some of the budget surplus to fund water conservation and planning projects, including reservoirs to store additional water in some river basins, but I'm fairly certain none of those reservoirs would be just south of 45, right through the middle of Houston.
I don't know what is in that building, but it's at the corner of Capitol and Smith Streets. http://goo.gl/maps/60Blm
H-town looks good with a waterfront. Rick Perry has been talking about using some of the state's surplus "rainy day" fund for water (conservation) projects. It would create a lot of American jobs and make Houston a more attractive city. Win-win, I think.
Though the Z8 is quite nice to look at, I think it is the worst kind of retro when the re-imagined version of a car that was famous for its driving dynamics is itself a terrible drive.
An interesting analysis, to be sure. Your attempt to explain the reason why so many people view the PT Cruiser, HHR, etc., so-called "synthetic general" retro designs with disdain is fairly compelling. I would add to your remarks that the often clumsy attempts to update the design elements with a modern interpretation…
Don't forget the sled!
This is genius.
This is really good advice if you can get the right financing. If you can invest your money in something that over a 5 year period will (likely) have a return that is better than the rates you can get on an auto loan, then save the money and finance the car. If you can only get a 7% loan but your best investment…
I went through every post and was surprised that no one said "Toyota Camry." I'm not 100% certain which car I was driven from the hospital home, but I know my mom was at work when she went into labor and drove herself to the hospital in her sky blue 1985 Toyota Camry. If I had to guess, my mom also drove me home in…
