Kala seems to have some pipes on her.
Kala seems to have some pipes on her.
That line would have found a happy home on Bab5, that's for sure.
There does seem to be a running underthread of black market/fake prescription drugs.
But as long as they had her locked in the room and kept Neeta from getting to her, that was all they needed to do. It's not like she had a lawyer to consult. All the doctor needed was that one nurse and a few orderlies who wouldn't question orders.
I could see the argument that JMS's influence is "barely noticeable" if you only have a surface idea of his work. If you know he wrote Babylon 5 and comics, but didn't really watch it or read his work, then your ideas of what he brings to the table could be very superficially incorrect.
LIGHT SPOILER
I thought about this for a while, and decided that Wolfgang initially picked the song on the karaoke, which inspired Riley to play it on her iPod.
Clearly you haven't seen Episode 6. Won't be seeing that on CBS any time soon…
The way I saw it, Wolfgang has a very low bullshit tolerance. Thus he can't spin a "fake" story like the one Lito did.
I think the show wants us to believe that Lito is a great liar, which is a skill he channels into acting.
LIGHT SPOILER
Yeah. The scene is just shy of Hurley going, "We can call him Locke now, the audience knows."
SPOILER
GOod point. My bad.
That also doesn't work for me, because it's definitely not earned. It's like they collectively agreed on a code term for Locke without actually discussing it.
It makes sense, but the whole use of the "Jeremy Bentham" psuedonym in the S4 Finale REALLY rubbed me the wrong way in retrospect. Especially given how, when we see that episode, we're given no reason to believe that anyone other than Sayid (and MAYBE Jack) was even aware of the psuedonym.

In my opinion the answer to your question is a resounding "yes".
