I didn't really notice it at the time it was on, but Quantum Leap used a lot of baby-talk in a way that did not age well. "A time travel experiment that went… a little ca-ca."

They don't murder him. Captain Amazing essentially murders himself because he refuses to listen to the fact that they already threw the toggle.
Given that I was 26 when it came out, I disagree with your thesis.
"There's Black Power and White Flight, they work together."
I've seen the "Black Rock Six" theory for the outrigger. Do Not Like.
Outrigger!
The fourth wall is just a window to Abed.
Eddie/Black Canary? Could work…
Nah, the horse was Miss Klugh's horse.
But where else did MiB use anything resembling "appear as a spider"?
I never liked that theory. It does fit the MiB's usual MO at all.
Because it didn't answer ISLAND SECRETS.
Probably not. For all I've heard about how their introduction was "inorganic", I can't see it. Locke was addressing the camp-at-large, with a specific point of, "I'm going to include everyone". And, hey, two people who weren't "inner circle" react to that! How inorganic!
But what important stuff? Other than raise their hand the one time anyone of the "leaders" said, "I'm going in the jungle on one of our secret mission things, but anyone who wants to can come", what did they DO to earn such hate?
Like I've said, I've always found the N&P hate utterly irrational. Minus "Exposé", they have about twenty lines between the two of them, and 80% of them are in "Cost of Living".
I do love this episode as a meta-statement of the rest of the 815 survivors. What were they doing all this time? NOTHING USEFUL. They didn't care about hatches or what the island was or any of that crap, because they all were staring at their own navels.
I mean, hell, it's fourteen years later and "9/11" is still talked about that way.
It's in the Kama Sutra Apocrypha.
"Stabbing With Distance" will be the name of my next band.
Something had to go in between airings of Beastmaster.
