:whispers: everyone know gay ghosts haunt closets, not attics.

Obligatory response right back to them:

Well, since Kim has her own ministry, she certainly seems to be overlooking one very important sin: “Women should remain silent in the churches. They are not allowed to speak, but must be in submission, as the law says.” 1 Corinthians 14:34

That is my favorite argument I keep hearing: the intolerant left. Like somehow we are the bad guys for creating some sort of consequence to horrible action.

Except that we had a chance to vote for Teachout at the primary level and did not. Shame on us.

It’s largely acculturated misogyny and emotional labor toward the men in their lives — in my opinion anyway.

53% of white women voted for Trump. We can’t lay it all of on white men.

Well if someone acts like a racist, talks like a racist, advocated policies like a racist...... then it’s appropriate to infer they actually ARE a racist even if they keep saying “Hey, I’m no racist!”

That’s not the racist part. Making someone bus themselves 100-200 miles and pay 40 dollars is the racist part since it specifically targets those people who can least afford it, while those who can usually have drivers licenses.

Try spending 3 hours in the DMV when you’re working 80 hours a week.

But don’t forget that some states, like Alabama, made it very difficult for people to get IDs. In their case, due to “budget reasons”, they closed all but two or three DMVs in the state. Meaning that some people had to drive up to four hours each way on a weekday to get a license/ID. That’s incredibly

I second this. I was at a football game with my expired driving license (I’m 42, so I look a bit older than 21) and I wanted to buy a beer. The lady at the counter said it was policy not to accept an expired ID. I located my Global Entry card in my wallet and handed it to her. She showed it to her supervisor and

It happens to residents of the District of Columbia all the time. People get carded at bars and denied service because they are believed to no be US citizens.

I’m willing to bet some of those states probably put you through the ringer to register to vote, yet the driver’s licenses aren’t legit to let you get on an airplane.

And make them free.

No, they are trying to force all states to comply with standards that better verify the person who gets an ID really is that person. You can argue whether or not those standards are useful, but that is it.

I was surprised that after all these years the US doesn’t have one and US citizens only carry a drivers license for most of it.

But then I noticed how crazy is after the Trump ellection and all the “immigrant/muslim registration” thing.

Here in Mexico we carry a national ID which is mostly used to vote but it is

Voting is the most important thing you can do as a citizen and should be treated seriously. People died for you to have this right, so you should not be able to present a utility bill as proof of citizenship. Any national id should be free for everyone.

It’s not the idea of IDs for voters. It’s the implementation of getting an ID. If you’re able-bodied, of means, and know where your birth certificate is, the idea of getting an ID seems pretty easy and reasonable.

Make them 1) free and 2) super easy to get, and people wouldn’t gripe as much. The issue with Voter ID isn’t about protecting the vote as much as it is about keeping certain eligible people from voting. And lets not pretend it is anything else; enough people have been caught telling the truth about this.
