I’m I don’t know. I think people confuse how deplorable Dolan is with how he has handled this. The plan to hire Phil was not crazy at the inception. And he has stayed out of his way. Crazy people can do smart things and I think that describes Dolan here

This wisdom is being ignored. But it is very insightful.

That has to lead to some tangible fruit, right?No one — I mean no one — can see the wisdom in what he is doing. So if there is some mind Jedi scheme here, it is over all of our heads. The chances of this are vanishingly low.

I can’t say he is useless. At the end of the day, he found a way to win with a good roster which not every coach can say. But, I largely agree with your point which is a great deal of his success was being in the right place at the right time. This is true for a lot of us though, isn’t it?

I think it is just age. He clearly does not care that much about whether the Knicks win or lose and is almost using his lack of interest as a basis for the excuse he will tell us about in his next book.
