I certainly didn’t realize it until many years later but my favorite bits of trivia about TMNT is always that while Daredevil was trained by Stick and fights the Hand, the turtles were trained by Splinter and fight the Foot.

Yeah, the original iteration was gritty but it had a self aware sense of humour.

The presumption in this country is innocence.

I don’t care how much they push this tech, VR will fail as long as it needs big devices strapped to your head that are more uncomfortable than wearing a pair of glasses. Meta will lose millions on 2023.

The million dollar question for me with these things is always “will it fit comfortably over my glasses?” and for all the other headsets I’ve tried, the answer is something between “meh” and “oh hell no”.

really hope there are raft/ladder interludes in the series! /s

I hope there are like 30 Ringer podcasts about this show

I bounced off The Last of Us pretty hard the one time I tried playing it, but as somebody who has been working his way through the various PlayStation exclusives from the last ten years and has just finished the four main Uncharted games, I’m thinking about taking another look.

I don’t really think HDTGM fits with those other two.  They aren’t live riffing anything.   Also I need you work to also account for We Hate Movies and Cinematic Titanic

Tangentially related and entirely opinion:

Weird take, Levi. I don’t think anyone here wanted Rockstar to sully (or even water down) the GTA franchise just as it was taking off. Plus timing wise, Eminem was still shooting 8 Mile and Rockstar was turning around Vice City in a year or less, so they probably wouldn’t have been the ones to write the movie, not

Thank gawd we judged that bullet!

And nothing of potential value was lost.

Probably a very wise decision.

I’m too astonished that Netflix would let a genre show make it to a fourth season to even have an opinion on recasting the lead.

One of the wildest things to me is a lot of the so called “pro-union” people are all ignoring that the scale rate is what was collectively bargained for by the union. Taylor was offered significantly above scale. I am hard line pro-union, and rates (and other protections) should increase, but this is not the way to go

That’s why there’s more to the story than just one side. You don’t “cheap out” when you go with Jennifer Hale. Her resume is massive. She’s more experienced. She’d cost much more.

It’s relevant in that both parties here have a history of weird behavior - Kamiya being a dick, Taylor for calling to boycott something she was a part of.

I was curious, so I looked up Hellena’s IMDB page and she hasn’t had single role since 2014. Gotta wonder why that is. She talks about how she needed the money from this game to survive, but why couldn’t she get any other work?

I feel like people in the comments are missing the obvious conclusion that Kamiya just didn’t want Taylor voicing Bayo and lowballed her intentionally to have her back out. Not that I’m condoning this behavior, but this seems less about an industry-wide problem (though that is definitely a real issue) and more about a
