I saw a tiktok complaining about the ability displayed in gameplay footage and I was so confused because I never look at footage for how competent the person is. 

Think one of the reasons Gamers (TM) get so mad about reviewers making comparisons because they assign the most cynical possible motives to every reviewer. Well it IS a reworked mobile game, Zodiac: Orcanon Odyssey from 2015. Came out 3 years before Octopath too.  Zodiac was abandoned and incomplete, while Astria has been reworked, more content added, and the story has been changed
