I had several professors that felt that adherence to the clock was mandatory, and stated up front on day 1 and in the syllabus that anyone arriving late would be barred from that days class.

I hope he gets every penny he asks for. You can’t replace time with money, but America owes so much to so many black men and their families.

I have a lot of family in eastern Alabama. Its one of the places where a lot of all black towns exist and have no desire to integrate. I’m sure she didn’t the sh*tty comments from the guests, but it’s nothing new and I hope she gets to coast into a well funded retirement.

I work as a tour guide in Savannah, GA. This was the city that the Cornerstone Speech was delivered, by VP of the Confederacy, Alexander Stephens, in 1861. If there is any doubt to what the Confederacy stands for it is in this speech.

Though they were very much against states having the right to free or otherwise refuse to return “fugitive” slaves in their states.

Can’t wait to see the NY state museum dedicated to Bin Laden- funded by the state. Maybe collection of his things- photos of him and his family.

Your employer actually does have a responsibility to protect you from harassment by customers and vendors. The employee has to make the employer aware, but the employer has to take action to provide a safe work environment free from discrimination and harassment. It's similar to being harrassed by a coworker. Once you

Hostile work environment.

It’s unclear when her EEOC complaint was filed.” - Her suspension was last month, and she just took retirement, so it’s early days on her EEOC complaint.

I hope she wins her complaint. I only have so much energy to contemplate why someone black would want to work there in any capacity, so I’ll leave it alone. Please folks, (certain men in particular) don’t lean in on the misogynoir, here.

Is she a state employee?  Pension, low cost medical insurance (with optional dental) and a lot of other benefits.  Yeah. might be worth it to put up with all the other shit.

Yeah, if you look at various state’s Declaration’s of Independence.  It’s pretty obvious that slavery was the #1 cause.

Perhaps it was the only job offer she had at that point in her life. And as with most jobs, perhaps she tolerated it at best because she had to put food on the table.

A Black woman who worked for 12 years as a receptionist at Alabama’s state-run museum of the Confederacy has filed a racial discrimination complaint with the Equal Opportunity Employment Commission over her treatment while working there.

So, first, it’s a state job. Good benefits, possibly even a real pension.

Probably one of those “I need a job any job” situations... but Jesus 12 years...

When one person maintained that secession was only about preserving states’ rights — a view that had long been taught to southerners as the root cause of the Civil War instead of slavery

Her decision to work at a place like that is kinda baffling. I’d be more surprised if a museum dedicated to the Confederacy didn’t discriminate.

What would it take to get her into a curator position at said Museum?  Just thinkin’ out loud here...

Since she is retiring maybe Candace Owens can take her place?
