I admit, I've been half tempted to suggest a game of Pathfinder (a D&D-alike) to them. If only so they can play Will Graham as an Investigator, crazy prospector Gunslinger, and Charles Bronson Wizard.

So it is. Interesting to see those Traveller references filter in.

To be honest, I haven't followed The Magicians much, but was stunned to catch the FTB bit. Because DAMN, is that a deep nerd cut (but highly appropriate, given the context).

Between this premise and the trailer for The Darkness, this is a banner year for horror movies about white people doing stupid shit.

THANK you.

This is something I can appreciate. Especially after reading one or two scripts where every female character - and I mean EVERY female character, down to the most bit of bit parts - was described in such a male gaze-y style that you expected each description to be punctuated with a Jason Mantzoukas-esque "Aw, FUCK."

*backwards speech*

FOX turned into The Hallmark Channel so gradually, I hardly even noticed.

If I'm reading the premise of THE BOY right, it looks like somebody made a movie based on the Slender Man stabbing. Place your bets on whether it will beat a Slender Man movie to the box office… now.

Nah, he spent his entire time outrunning and hiding from a monster that would kill him agonizingly.

"They're landing in Tommy Chong's backyard."

I've been using that to make hot chocolate!

Huh. As a cis gay man, I'd be interested in hearing some trans perspectives on that one. I've only seen the premise thus far, but already I'm afraid it might go into the sort of "anatomy is destiny" sentiment that pervades crappy transformation webcomics.

Or, reading over the cast list, they could have actually gone to the effort to have a Native American character as one of the leads. Settlers did occasionally hire natives as guides and interpreters, and the character could easily be a member of a tribe that hates those fucking cannibals (intertribal conflict happened

Yeah, I'm curious how the whole "Natives of Neverland" thing is being handled, especially with White Lily as the face of it all. I know that an Australian Aborigine actor is playing the chief of the tribe (so, if he's her biological father, awkward), but I'm wondering if they're supposed to actually be Aboriginal or

"That's right. I believe you will find that I have no testicles."
"She bluffing! Finish her!"

I have heard many a tale of a white woman singing that song at karaoke and having to run headlong into "Oh shit she's a gold digger/Just thought you should know nrrrrrrrrrr."

Yeah, I love that "novelty" and "the Union soldiers are the bad guys" are in the same sentence in the review. No, wait, the other thing.

It was also hilarious seeing him going on the "this is sticking it to the SJWs" tack during press, like to the point of retweeting quasi-GG stuff. It's like, do you know what words even mean?

Yeah, about that… I'm wondering if that's just trying to collapse the concept for the review, because a, those are two separate things, and b, although the US military is finally starting to come around on the matter, there are no female SEALs. Or Green Berets. So, unless this show is set in the future, there are
