Disagree. When I got moved to WFH 2 years ago I found myself subtly not code switching anymore for my work persona. I noticed other people natually doing the same. Now we all talk like humans. It’s nice.

Also, a lot of these tips are ultimately tips to move away from language which is socialized as more feminine (particularly around hedging words, filler words, whatever, no worries).

It is what it is: And what is it, exactly? That would be helpful to know because this statement means nothing.

Referring to women as “girls”: If the person or group of people you are referring to is over the age of 18, use woman/women, not “girl(s).”

I think you mean “birthing person”, you bigot!

:P

I call everyone “my dudes” because often times it’s a gender neutral term in the modern era. It’s a way to get around misgendering somebody until you learn their pronouns. Also because I’m a disorganized mess of slang where I still say “groovy” alongside “yeet.

Also saying “It’s cool, you’re good” or “I’m good” has a

Hard disagree on “it is what it is.”

As a bonus, people who curse are more trustworthy. Let it rip!

“That sucks: It does.”

I agree, and in some situations, acting puritanical about profanity is viewed as worse than the use of profanity.

Counterpoint: sounding “Professional” at work is gatekeeping. Your linguistic patterns are not a meaningful measure of your qualities as a worker.

The only tip anyone should take from this is you shouldn’t take work tips from the internet. This “article” could have been condensed to 3 words: “Know your audience”. It really is as simple as that.

Profanity

A shame. Porting something like Witcher 3 to Nintendo Switch isn’t something ordinary coders are capable of. Whoever did it do not think like normal programmers. There’s something about Russian coders - a level of juryrigging and out of the box thinking that used to be common decades ago, but you don’t find elsewhere

You definitely should have worded it differently though.

While this certainly sucks, as I would have prefered the Witcher 3 upgrade to be prioritized over Cyberpunk, I guess I’ll just play it on Series X since it has FPS Boost at least.

Some of you all may want to bone up on the history of Poland in the 20th century. Offers some important context here.

It’s well past the point of absurdity.

So it’s okay to launch a bloody and illegal war as long as it isn’t in a country that borders your own?

Finally, a way I can pretend to be the victim here.
