I don’t necessarily disagree with you, I find Will Smith to be a touch overrated, but to be fair, he just turned in one of his best performances last year and is a favorite to get the best actor Oscar

Laurence Fishburne (DOB 7/30/61) played Cuba Gooding Jr.’s (DOB 1/2/68) father in Boyz ‘n the Hood. 6 1/2 year age difference

Will Smith still does the mildly buzzy prestige piece like King Richard, as opposed to cameos in action movies produced by the guy who inspired Turtle in Entourage like Willis does, so I think he’s still above.

Reminds me of the scene in The First Wives Club where Goldie Hawn finds out she’s playing Elizabeth Berkley’s mother and gives a martini fueled rant at a fancy bar.

Look, I like to get riled up about ageism as much as anyone else, but this isn’t ageism. It’s easier to age someone up than down, even with Marvel’s CG wizardry. If she’s going to be playing the mom in flashbacks it makes sense that she will be younger and aged up in present day stuff.

It’s probably more the fact those films are only getting made because he’s in them.

This stuff always makes me think of the time Jenna on 30 Rock was learning teen lines for Gossip Girl. Then she found out she was really going to be playing the dying grandmother.

I couldn’t agree more. People have been so very quick to take everything she’s saying as fact since she’s now “free”.....but she still has a mental illness.

Long live Wendy williams? Er, no.

Good riddance.

Good riddance to bad rubbish.

Wow, NO mention of Wendy Williams victim blaming 2 murder victims. And her constant racism and slut shaming. Can’t wait for Jezebel to go away forever. Long live MS. Magazine.

While I agree with the conservatorship ending, and it’s obvious that her father is toxic and shouldn’t be allowed to control her life, I also wish Britney would cool her jets and stop publicly feuding with her sister and just get the help she needs. Just because the conservatorship was awful doesn’t mean Britney isn’t

I read and subscribe to Vanity Fair. This manipulated photo doesn’t represent their great, in-depth articles.

Some asshole on my Facebook feed did a side by side of her and Tom Cruise today to show “who takes care of themselves and who doesn’t.”

I don’t care if she was a [put whatever employment makes you happy here], we can be empathetic for a person that goes in to get a procedure done and is physically scarred for life after.  It doesn’t matter who she was or who she is.  Stop judging people.

Hey, look at what happened *last friggin’ month* to Bridget Fonda after some-20 years of fading into obscurity: a fucking paparazzo figured out where she lived, *staked out her house*, and took photos of her looking like a normal middle-aged mom. She had gained a lot of weight and some of the press were rather cruel

I am more sympathetic, I guess. I think the article is about living with shame, disappointment, and fear of being judged for “letting yourself go.” Look at the recent coverage of Kelly McGillis. Well-known people are not allowed to fall into obscurity when there is news to be made for showing unflattering pictures.

Yea, we’ve reached the point where this isnt funny anymore, and someone needs to step in and really offer that man some help.

I mean, I get it, Jez vs. the Root vs. Jalop vs. Giz are all going to have different takes on a number of subjects. I’m a white man who comments on Jez and the Root, I understand this. There are some takes on both sites that I think are questionable sometimes, but I get that as a white man, my perspective is not the
