Larry David is a treasure.

Again, you aren’t wrong. But - I said this in another comment - looking at the culture of that decade and the decades before it, and a couple after it.....teenage girls were not seen as children. They were seen as potential wives and baby makers. Homemakers. It’s gross, and unfortunate.

Right?

I’m not trying to argue your point at all, it’s valid. But you have to remember at the time - the whole “Lolita” “young girl” “sweet sixteen” “girl you’ll be a woman soon” “little girl” culture was already set and rock solidly engrained. He contributed to it, of course, but at the same time.....it was just the

That’s the biggest issue unfortunatly. You had predators running rampant, and some (SOME) that probably didn’t even realize it because it was just the norm, and for a VERY long time too..... I mean FFS, in 1988, when I was in high school, Winger had that song “17". Girls lost their shit over Kip Winger and this video

What I’m about to say is for context, it is NOT an EXCUSE, at all.

Sidenote: Body of Evidence was so trashy but I couldn’t hate it. It has some great lines, Madonna looks amazing, and the video for “Bad Girl” (which came out the same time as the movie and whose plot is 10000x better than the movie) is simply GORGEOUS. I wanted all her clothing. I wore a beret everywhere too. lol

That Seinfeld episode was outstanding. As she said, it’s perfect example of making something incredibly funny, but not offensive. And absolute kudos to them for doing it. It reminds me of an episode of Curb Your Enthusiasm, when Michael J Fox was Larry’s upstairs neighbor, and Larry went to confront him about

I totally agree. If we are going by Britney Rules, he should 1000% be under a conservatorship too, right?

Totally agree.

While I think it’s important to look at the show and see where you can make improvements, I wish the article had been more careful about criticizing it. It just doesn’t feel right to me to take certain things that were groundbreaking and life changing for people the way this was and treat it as if it came out today.

THIS!

Netflix, HBO Max and Disney have been putting movies out on streaming services, this shouldn’t be news to her or her lawyers that it was probably going to happen. FFS, if Disney had ONLY put it in theaters there would have been a “why wasn’t it available streaming too??!”, or if they had waited....I mean....when is

I agree with you. People hear stories all the time and it inspires them in all sorts of ways.

No not at all!
TikTok *doesn’t allow users to use the platform for Multi-level-Marketing, so the people who want to always find these stupid and completely ridiculous ways to get around it. It’s cringy. lol

I am so sick of people doing horrible shit and saying stuff like, “I’m sorry I’m just speaking my truth” or “I’m just being me”

It’s such a weird mix of incredibly positive people (ex. Mikkazon, mikaylanogueira, elisabethwykert), talent (xchucklesx, itzslavik) amazing and just adorable animals (mortythemisfit, paisleypark28), wildlife rehabs and the people and foundations advocating to them (joshthedoodle, beaverbabyfurrylove), thought

It was insane looking back, wasn’t it? My mom also worked in a hospital, in the lab, and you are absolutely correct. She got stuck accidentally by a needle once, and they made her take a MONTH off from work, and get bloodwork done once a week. Even when she went back, they had her sit in the back and do paperwork,
