I find most people in the US who describe themselves as “libertarian” basically mean “Republican, but not willing to admit it”

Bill has gone the route of so many before him who turn into right wing assholes when they get old and won’t admit it.

Like Jiminy said, “the democrats don’t like you and the republicans don’t like you”. So, who watches this crud any more? Just the Joe Rogan/incel set? I stopped way back when he wouldn’t shut up about installing solar power at his compound. As if requiring a separate outbuilding for the umpteen inverters wouldn’t need

Martin Short is a goddamn Canadian National Treasure

Is that supposed to be a hard question to answer?

Now playing

Maher really does some some interesting guests on occasionally but him being in the same room asking the questions was enough to finally drive me away from his HBO show in..2017-ish? I don’t really remember but it made me angry enough at the TV that I had to quit watching it.

There are probably hundreds of clips with Maher on Youtube conclusively demonstrating that he is garbage at his supposed core competency - interviewing. One that sticks out for all the wrong reasons is an ‘interview’ he did with directors Tarantino and Apatow.

He’s not on your side and he’s certainly not on liberals’ side. He’s one of the chief anti-vaxxers who can’t stop showering Netanyahu with praise, vehemently hates Muslims, supports restricting immigration, and stacks his panels with discredited right wingers. He’s a hack who has been making the exact same three

We don't need corporations. We'd be better off without them.

Sorry, but I hate stances like this one. Sure, corporations will likely always exist but why do we have to accept the status quo of how they operate if it actively makes the world a worse place? It’s okay to want to improve things.

They don’t care if you say corporations are evil if you don’t specifically mention them. Stewart said some way more contentious things than this on the show.

I guess there’s just enough sci-fi bullshit in Severance to keep the suits at Apple from catching on to the message of “corporations are evil and working for one is miserable”

It’s simple. Techbros think they're infallible, and cannot stand someone proving they're not.

If you watch the video, the usher was really up on Rowland to the point where she stepped on the train of her dress (which may be borrowed) and not letting her stop at all. If someone was stepping on my dress, touching me and rushing me, I would also be upset.

Is this a joke?

I don’t think it had anything to do with whether the usher knew who she was? Rowland just didn’t like being physically pushed and didn’t like being touched by strangers, which is a fair boundary to have.  Of course I can’t find a video of what actually happened, just a bunch of slo-mo cut with stills.

Algeria would like a word.

He’s already such a mythologized figure. There’s value in portrayals that he can’t influence.

I kinda feel like we shouldn’t humanize history’s monsters until they’re dead and buried.
