So mankind will be extinct in a matter of years per Dolores.. and all the hosts left are in the sublime… which is powered by the Hoover Dam, which will surely break down one day one way or another.. and then the servers shut down and delete everything? Wow. Okay.

Another pointless, incoherent twist at the very end (the show can’t help itself) with Dolores/Christina having that whole part of the city be a simulation just for her? Was she even real? How did she see the “real world” of the people going crazy, as well as Caleb, if nobody saw her and she was in a simulation? Were

I finally figured out who the target audience was for this show during the episode: 13 year old boys who think their mind is blown with the realization that civilization is made up of savages who will destroy themselves. Yes, how profound, to discover man’s bestial nature. Not extremely trite and discussed for

I just don’t get it. What the heck are they trying to do with this show anymore?

I hope writing the book helped her find closure.

Its most-watched episode drew 11.2 million viewers.

I find a lot of shit I did when I was a kid embarrassing too. At least she got paid.

Agreed. As someone who was about 12-13 when it first aired, I used to catch it on Nick pretty frequently. While I can understand being somewhat embarrassed of the show (especially considering the BTS stuff she endured), she was pretty great on it and definitely one of the highlights IMO.

Probably just her specific reaction to the trauma she endured throughout the whole thing.

I think she’s just being harsh on her own work. It’s not high art - those live action kid shows rarely are, but it had some spark and flare. I was way too old to be really be a fan, but little bits I’ve seen have made me chuckle more than something like That’s So Raven.

This is a big failing of the reviews here and has been for a long time. They all can’t help comparing whatever they are watching to “the source material” when usually less than 10% of the people watching the show have read it.

“but how much praise can you really give something for doing what is essentially the bare minimum in replicating an acclaimed work of art and transferring it into a different medium?”

Finally , quality programming on HBO Max that I couldn’t possibly get anywhere else and is no way similar to any other show!

Who wants quality scripted series when you can have awful reality TV?

Yaaaaaay! I can finally immerse myself in the Christian implications/proper installation of shiplap!

Yeah people aren’t really using ‘lame’ or ‘dumb’ to describe people with a limp or who don’t speak - I don’t think they have for at least 70 years

Really, we’re going to say we can’t use the word “dumb” anymore? Isn’t that a word that’s long ago lost its harm toward a specific group and is just used as a common term for something or someone that’s stupid? Or is “stupid” similarly off-limits?

Diane Warren doesn’t need to explain herself to anyone or apologize, with her songwriting resume.  She’s done the work of 17 writers on one track all by herself, many times over.

So, 24 people wrote a one song and no one thought to check what any of the words means?

As much as I agree with the first post from The Dream, he might want to pull this one back:
