You know what functions even better as family vehicles? Minivans. Too bad they have such a bad wrap. Most people who need a truck, or think they do, would do much better with a minivan. They can haul 7 people all week long and still fit something the size of a 4x8' sheet of plywood when needed. The 1-2 times a year

Since my daily driver is a Cadillac CTS, I have recently rented a minivan a few times to move some items from my old house to my new house prior to the big move that the moving company is going to do. I cannot adequately state the sheer usefulness and utility that a minivan offers. I was shocked by how much stuff you

Owning something 365 for times when you need it, twice a year, is silly to me. But as they say... fools and their money.

There was a trade-in (Sequoia) that I forgot to mention, but I really have no idea what they got for it because I didn’t feel like doing the math to find out. Looks like you cracked that case though!

Pickup trucks are the only car segment left where people actually WANT to buy them.

First gear - this is a slow motion retelling of the housing bust 10 years ago writ small. It wont have the same effect because houses (generally) cost more than cars but the same group of ppl who got screwed 10 years ago are going to be the ones who take it on the chin here.

This is mostly true, but also kind of demonstrates the situation we are in culturally.  There are very few people who actually need a six seat luxury sedan that also tows 13,000 pounds.  Lots of people are buying them to fit in.  I’m not going to tell them to stop, but I do wish people would stop for a minute and

1st and Neutral: Pickup trucks are the only car segment left where people actually WANT to buy them. They’re the last of the car guys cars. Look at how emotional people get over their trucks.

Your anger is focused at the workers rather than where it should be aimed - at the bosses who won’t pay their workers what the workers feel is appropriate compensation.

And they never have to do anything else if they don’t want to. They don’t want to work late or come in early to help complete a project they don’t have to.

“A packet operator with basically no responsibility gets paid $27/hr, plus full pension, benefits batter than his non-unionized manager, starting 3 weeks vacation.”

The difference between motorsports and other athletics is that if you write a big enough check you can race in Formula One, IndyCar, or NASCAR. You’re not stroking a check to play quarterback in the NFL or start for an MLB team. I understand what Hinch is saying, but I’m not sure how a league minimum would work for

No doubt, and I’m sure the number of shithead customers is really high.

Chevy does it better!

Keep going... I want a cabover pickup!
I can’t take credit for this, I believe I got it from somebody else posting it here, but had to share!

Yes please...

My first experience of buying a car from a dealership back in the 1980's went something like this.

Better yet, make it legal to buy directly from the manufacturer. Why in this day in age can I just configure the car I want on the manufacturer’s website and have it shipped to my house instead of having to have it shipped to a dealership and still deal with them?

This isn’t far off. Im seriously considering using Carvana for my next car just so I don’t have to deal with all the (normal) dealer bullshit. Though this could be due to being on the autism spectrum and general social anxiety more than anything else.

Car sales is a scam based industry. No car is worth what it actually costs, and for my generation that is already saddled with ridiculous debt, the last thing we want to do is overpay for a car. So if you’re like me, every trip into the dealership is adversarial. The salesman, the dealership, and the automaker are all
