I think Adriana's reaction makes sense. It was when Chris mentioned Amy that she got all huffy so she sensed that there might have been something between the two of them.

I don't buy it
Betty's not a great mother, or even merely a good one, (though even she has her moments, like her conversation with Sally on kisses or her misguided attempt to get Sally to like her baby brother by giving her a barbie), but she isn't on the level of monster that is Livia Soprano, nor do I really see her

so it turns out the Dharma FoodDrops
are Dharma making food drops. Great. Sigh.

Good therapy scenes in these episodes
The therapy scene in Big Girls Don't Cry is one of the best in the series, from the opening awkwardness of being together again to Tony really letting Melfi in on his violent acts on that guy who owed him money to remind her who she is dealing with. It strikes many tones and their

"Useless Therapy"
"The Melfi's therapy scenes really serve to underline just how useless the show finds therapy, I think."

not failed thirdsies! That's actually what happened!

A! Punch!
I rewound that moment 3 times and laughed hysterically each time.

Stop toying with us!
this movie is the biggest cock tease ever.

Either the food network, or maybe the travel channel (tlc?) aired this program that was about NY vs Chicago pizza. This involved having firefighters from each city eat and decide which is the better pizza. NY firefighters chose NY. Chicago firefighters chose Chicago.

Disagree on Commendatori
It's probably in my top 10 Sopranos episodes, and one of the most memorable ones. I just don't think the Italy scenes in Commendatori feel as labored as you do, Todd. I think they're pretty terrific actually. Watching the characters out of their element works really well in the episode, moreso

This is a hard question but I'm gonna go with the theme song. It's just too perfect.

Melfi gets a lot of flack on these boards for ostensibly being just a narrative device that allows Tony to share his innermost feelings, but I feel like such a gloss over the character is unfair. We get to see quite a lot of Melfi's life outside her hours with Tony, and I think the depiction is as rich as any other

Even if this turns out to be a terrible terrible movie, those visuals alone have sold me on buying a movie ticket.

But if the whole thing is a dream, there's no reason to believe any of the rules given to us about the top. Even if it falls over, despite what Cobb says, it could still be a dream and you could just chalk it up to dream logic, though of course if that's the case then there is nothing to grasp on to to understand the

oooooh Guillermo
Somehow I kept reading this as Benicio Del Toro. I was thinking, oh I guess that werewolf movie really made an impression on him. This makes more sense.

oh wait, I just read his story. Barefoot Jim, you have been replaced!

Don't worry BFJim, he'll never replace you in our hearts.

a lot of people on this thread misuse the word apologist.

yeah Janice deserves her own classification as Tony's sister. She's much more like him and Livia than she is like the other mob wives. She's definitely got that Soprano gene.

The hippy-dippy nature of early Janice is perfectly in keeping with her character. She's a schemer and an opportunist who tries on different roles to see what works to her advantage, and her whole lifestyle is a manipulative act that she puts on for this purpose. As Carmela says, Janice has no work ethic, and she's
