@zark169: OK, sure, old-school Paranoia uses "roll under stat" with a d20 system, but with that game, the GM is supposed to just make things up anyway to maximize hilarity. And I'm not going to get into dice pools, since that's beyond the scope of this conversation. (I wouldn't call a d10 dice pool a "percentile

I once took a class with the guy at 1:40. He's about as crazy as you'd expect for a guy advocating Snowball Earth, but he's still a pretty awesome person; the class was pretty much just "weekly barbecue and chitchat at his house." I think the ethics of a human woman gestating a chimp came up in passing at one point.

The problem I have with percentile systems is there's no way to take into account how difficult the task it; you just roll vs. your skill, and that lets you accomplish anything with that skill. Say what you will about d20 rolls, the idea of rolling the die, adding your bonus, and comparing with a Difficulty Class

I used the iATKOS DVD rather than the Kalyway one; the iATKOS has better support for the Intel X3100 graphics card often found on Centrino Pro laptops. (In particular, I tried Kalyway and couldn't get the correct resolution on my screen.) Neither

I missed my chance with the Show Us Your Firefox, but to be honest, my pockets are more interesting than my Firefox. Here's hoping...
