Yes. This is what your hood ornament may do to an unsuspecting pedestrian. I imagine those Rolls Royce wings may smart just a tad on the way in.And let’s not talk about hood ornament extraction.

that makes sense I suppose. I still want them back. For argument sake if nothing else. let car designers who are afraid of coming up with names for cars work on coming up with a brand symbol for each model.
I enjoy the 0:47 part, it takes a solid whack to make it go down. Even more entertaining is the time it spends without the top part closing up, gives a nice “oh you f—-ing broke it” moment. Maybe it went down extra quick with the impact and somehow kept it open in case anyone’s extremities got caught, maybe.
‘Pedestrian safety’ has pretty much insured that they’ll never come back. Rolls Royce gets away with it because they have a very expensive, duh, mechanism to retract it in case of impact. Don’t want to damage your costly hood ornament while mowing down the poor people with your shiny Phantom.
If you can dodge an RPG, you can dodge a trailer hitch.
When I was a young kid, my soon to be brother-in-law had one of these and almost every time he pulled out of our driveway, he would tear off his muffler because the car sat so low. Pretty funny for a 12 year old boy. He just refused to park the car in the street.
Yep, it’s a fiberglass tonneau. There are backseats underneath. The downside is there’s no way to store the tonneau on/in the car so you need to take it off and leave it at home if you want to use the back seat.
That’s outrageous. Is that some kind of tonneau across the back seats, does it have back seats at all?
After seeing your Thunderbird I just wanted to add the other two most beautiful convertibles ever mass produced
Beautiful machine, one of my all time favorites. Hope to have my own one day.
Bought this on a whim, not being sure how much we’d actually use it. I’ve put twice as many miles on it as I thought I would, and almost all top down. It just feels like freedom, and makes even running dumb errands fun. The stick shift helps too though. Long live manual convertibles!
Nothing like cruising down a country road with the top down on a warm spring day. Unfortunately, my car is currently in the shop having the engine and suspension rebuilt, hope to have it back on the road soon.
Have you read Apple’s Terms Or even Kotaku’s For that matter every comment you post on here they can use, every picture for ShopTaku they can use. This is all very standard in this day in age. This seems a little silly to get up in arms about.
I vote for stef as FIA President
Whenever people rag on me about living in the cold North, I say “I can put on clothes and go outside in -20 degree weather. What can you do in 110 degrees?
I loved Betty! I have an autographed poster of her - have always been disappointed Supercars didn’t come back. Attendance and promotion were dismal, though - I can’t really blame them.
I remember the costs for the single race being part of the equation now that mention it. IIRC, when they pulled out of Austin when they won the X Games, they had I believe Montreal also lined up before/after. I’d love to see the Aussies take on COTA and one of Montreal/Mid-Ohio/Indy/Laguna Seca.
The main reason the series cited was the expense of packing the whole show halfway around the world for one event. They’ve said if they could put together a 3-4 race package for North America they’d like to come back.
+1
Betty’s a real character - with her as the team owner, and Dave Reynolds as lead driver, Erebus could be a lot of fun this year. If you wanted to spend a bit of time in Australia, and you’re interested in MotoGP, you can see Bathurst and Phillip Island 2 weeks apart - I’ve been to both, and they’re great events.…
