It’s already happening in countries like Portugal. If you don’t think the ISPs in the States are salivating at this kind of pricing you are too naive to even bother trying to explain it to.

On a daily driver? The amount of noise that would be added would be unacceptable to most people. Let alone the lack of any form of insulation protecting you from a hot summer sun beating on a steel roof.
My ‘91 Range Rover(Limited edition #101 of 300 Great Divide Edition) has been sitting untouched for almost 2 years. Originally parked for an alternator issue which then turned into a power steering issue. Now it’s been sitting so long that, in the grand tradition of Land Rovers everywhere, it’s leaking oil and fluids…
Asking the important questions. 0-60? Skidpad numbers? BHP? Who cares! I need to know if I can fit that whole pig in the back on my way to a Hawaiian luau.
I’ve done high speed and low speed laps at CotA. My favorites are always the slowest ones. Those have been parade laps for F1. I really wish they’d bring them back instead of that cringe-fest of WWE announcements they did this year.
Sadly, Formula 1 bans carrying GoPros in our cars during the actual parade so one of…
Not the same car but I got to take pics of one of his previous year’s rides, the F1-2000 #198. Gorgeous car. Actually a backup raced and won in Brazil, 5th in Spain, and threw a rod at Monte Carlo. I’ve got the better images on a drive at home but here’s one from that session. It’s still mind-boggling to me that they…
If referring to a car brand and the like, it’s ‘mark’.
I got that reference.
I’ve made the suggestion elsewhere.
Seems to work. Five years in it and not a single ticket or even a pull over.
Don’t forget the black satin jacket with a giant Corvette logo on back to go with that.
It’s happy hauling the family or hauling ass. And in ‘generic white’ no one gives it a second look.
Original Velar is best Velar.
Got to meet her in person at Austin. She really is as down-to-earth as they say. She truly loves racing and the fans. When I asked where I could buy a team shirt she had an assistant get into their trailer and give me one. Then a couple years ago she posted asking if anyone wanted a piece that came off a Mercedes of…
Early Humvees had no parking pawl at all. That was partly why you couldn’t buy them second hand. If this was an early one and wasn’t converted it’d be dead simple for a kid playing around inside to get it rolling.
I dunno. Around here they show up in packs at every C&C. One month they had like 15 Model S’s. All alike, all in a nice little row. Kinda like the Corvette Crew.
Having a few low-maintenance, desirable cars could make you more than ‘a couple hundred bucks on the weekend’. If you had like 4-5 cars and they averaged only one rental day a week you’re talking about $4-5K/month in added income. Yeah, it’d be work but it’s not out of the question.
My uncle raced Baja Bugs in the 1000 back in the 70s. Many of his old teammates are getting together to celebrate the 50th and run an old Bug again. I can’t wait to hear the stories of guys past retirement age doing it all over again.
My ‘61 Thunderbird has a bright white dashboard. While I love the look of the white interior on the dark car, I have to wear polarized sunglasses in it when driving. I have a couple pairs of shades I absolutely love but they can’t be used in that car because of the glare. I had the same issue in my 2013 Abarth. The…
