Somehow I missed comments deep inside a post from a year and a half ago. Ok, I suck.

I’m so very disappointed that no one is referring to it as a ‘Fiata’.

The very first popups on a ‘36 Cord were hand cranked. So...I guess you’re right. They went way back to the roots.

Now playing

Found a video. Of course Jay Leno has one. He also has a video of operating the headlights. Jump to 6:14 for mobile users.

The Cord 810. The very first car with ‘popups’. Each light was individually hand-cranked open from the inside. I can’t find a video of it in action but here’s pic with one open, one closed.

Just add a bit more red and it looks loads better. I went to red wheels and it really makes the car pop.

I have these 17” wheels. They are a nightmare to keep clean. I keep telling myself I’ll go to beefier 5 spokes for less cleaning work.

This is exactly what mine looked like when delivered. Down to the red mirror caps. Now it’s riding on red wheels which really set it off.

It was stupid hot out there today. I didn’t blame him. There’s no real breeze down in the pits so we just baked and sweated. I don’t even want to think how hot it is in the cars. Gonna be just as bad tomorrow.

Michael Shank Racing’s #60 in it’s new Justin Wilson tribute livery. I’ll be in the pits as an ‘honorary’ pit crew member this weekend with this team. Look for the guy that doesn’t look like he belongs. That’ll be me. :)

Buckminster Fuller’s Dymaxion.

Hometown favorite right here. Go, Jeff!

Came very close to importing this Ambi body about 10 years ago. A layoff from work meant I had to use that money on things like food and not dying. I’m still bitter. It would have looked awesome in the driveway next to the D90, RRC, and SIIa. All I have left from that era is my ‘91 Rangie. I sold the rest for various
